‘This unlawful impost must fall’: Conservative group sues Trump claiming tariffs are ‘unconstitutional exercise of legislative power’

A conservative legal group is suing the Trump administration over the president’s tariffs on Chinese imports, alleging that they were imposed through an “unlawful” use of emergency executive power.

Imagine what would happen if Obama withheld FEMA funds from red states. Even after a federal court ordered him to not do that.

What would the cultists here be saying? This is an outrage, impeach him, put him in prison etc.

Now the same thing has happened, in reverse. The orange felon has withheld FEMA funds from blue states, in violation of a federal court order.

What will the cultists say now?

V.D. Harris is lying.
Either that or he is woefully uninformed, in which case he should shut his yapper.

0:25 to 0:35 of that video...

Whatever a particular country tariffs us, we reciprocate and just mirror image them.

- V.D. Harris

FALSE!

The "tariff" percentages shown on that chart Donald held up are utter NONSENSE.

It is made-up bullsheet.

That tariff chart Dumbo held up is on par with the fake Hurricane Dorian forecast track that he held up.

You MAGA folks seriously need to snap out of it.

Most others are not as fortunate. Roughly one quarter of Louisiana's population suffers from real poverty. And then another quarter are the "working poor", working minimum wage jobs or close to it, they are basically a flat tire away from dropping down to the bottom level.
In other words, they didn't even notice.

Wow. How did I know in advance what your response would be? You asked the question and I answered it, dipshit. I’m not crying, I’m stating facts, something you’re obviously not too familiar with.

And yes I’ve been through market volatility. It took me quite a while to come back from 2001 but I learned some hard lessons. 2008 barely affected me. And I’ll probably be fine, if not a little poorer, after this one. But that doesn’t mean I have to like it. If someone stole 15% of your bank account and reduced your take home pay by the same amount, I imagine you probably wouldn’t like it too much.

Those other two weren’t brought on intentionally like this one. And what’s your infantile, vindictive simpleton Dear Leader’s actual intention here? You keep saying it’s a negotiating tactic? How’s that working out so far? I don’t see him negotiating so far with every other country in the world . Out the other side his mouth he says the intent is to bring manufacturing and jobs “back” to America. Those two goals are not consistent and probably mutually exclusive. But you, like Trump, are obviously too stupid to see that. But don’t worry Trump is a stable genius and knows exactly what he’s doing. Pretty fucking gullible, aren’t you? Where do you see this going?

Trying to explain business to a dumbfuckistanian is futile. If they were any good at understanding supply chain they wouldn't be living in dumbfuckistan.

I took action in October like most people with a brain. This clown has no idea what the fuck he is doing so it was an easy call. I'll be able to keep my prices flat for a year and make money. After that. Who the fuck knows.

It must suck for people who depend on their income due to fluctuations in the market.

This will get corrected during mid-terms. I just don't see most businesses being able to hang on that long.

The storm has just started. And a lot of people are going to drown.

You voted for this dumbfuckistan. Good luck, you'll need it.

Honestly, most people live paycheck to paycheck in dumbfuckistan. For the most part they are nice people that are just gravely ignorant and lack culture due to their folkways.

When I'm in Kansas most of my business comes from Kansas City, Minnesota, and Chicago people that travel to the show. Most of my clientele are white upper-middle class people (not racist) just people with disposable income. People don't need my pieces so the dynamic is different than most businesses, I guess.

Same in Texas. Believe it or not. If it weren't for Dallas and all the small towns. Texas would be more liberal than California. I shit you not. The Texas show I get people from all over the country/world. Being that it's the biggest show in the country. Again, some of the nicest people you will meet live in Texas.

I also benefit from the diversity of the market place in California where a lot of people have money so I'm not as dependent on places outside of the state if they things take a downward turn there.

Conclusion, most people in dumbfuckistan live paycheck to paycheck and this is not going to go well for them. Contrary to popular belief. I like dumbfuckistanians. They are simple people good people that are just not well educated.

What ever happened to Republicans not wanting government dictating and getting involved in their business and lives?

Strange world we live in now.

And this too shall pass. Hang on tight dumbfuckistan.

Houston, Austin, San Antonio and El Paso.

Very liberal.

When was the last time you were in Texas?

Austin is what you could call “liberal”.

Houston is like any other large city with a “diverse” population. A bunch of field negroes voting for some of Massa’s gubmint cheese.

Not exactly what I’d call liberal.

SA, I suspect is somewhere between Austin and Houston. Lotsa white collar folks with a few bucks, so maybe I’ll give you them in the liberal column.

Suck and Sam make my point about Dumbfuckistanians being ignorant / uneducated.

San Antonio isn't mostly White. It's almost 70% Hispanic. And it's not in between Houston and Austin.

As far as suck thinking Houston has a large black population. It's about 20%.

Sam and suck are now experts on Texas, yet haven't been there in decades if ever.

We spent a weekend in Dallas a couple of years ago for our granddaughter's graduation from SMU. I was honestly surprised at how friendly people were there. Even went out of their way a few times to be nice.

Some very cool people come from Texas. Just off the top of my head, there's Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, BFG, Doug Sahm, etc., etc. It just makes one wonder how they could keep electing so many dickheads to statewide office.

Granddaughter was quite happy to go home to NYC, though, after she graduated.

My step-daughter (granddaughter's mom) has owned a two unit AirB&B in Austin for the past 10 or 15 years. She got it partly so she would have a place to stay during SXSW. She's ready to bail, though, due to Austin being overrun by so many Elons.

I spent some time in Houston about 10 years ago, including some work in Texas City. Drove down there from Dallas with a detour on the way back to San Angelo. The main thing I remember about Houston was that it was crowded, it smelled bad and the water tasted shitty. Oh, yeah, and Tex-Mex or whatever they called was pretty disappointing after being in San Diego for the past 50 years.

Oh yeah, and DFW sucks ass.

Like I said. Dallas and a shitload of small towns.

You left out Kinky Friedman.

Sorry you had to endure Texas City. Not Houston. But unfortunately close. San Angelo sure seems out of the way. How the hell did you end up way over there?

And yes. Dallas is a shithole.

Texans call it southern Oklahoma.

I worked for a company called Cenergistic for six months. It's a national company that runs energy conservation programs, mostly in school districts and college campuses. Contractually they have to have one of their consultants visit each client every so often. HQ was in Dallas and I had to go there about once a month. My first visit included an "orientation" with a couple of the veterans and we had stops to make in Texas City and San Angelo. Lots of driving. I only lasted six months because I was on travel most weeks from Monday morning until Friday night, except when my appointments were in SoCal. Not quite what I expected.

Yeah I was wondering. couldn't think of a single reason to go to San Angelo unless you were driving through it.

Every time I drive through Dallas I wonder why someone would build a town on a prairie and plant trees.

I think it's the ugliest city in the country. With the ugliest skyline. All that neon. Tacky as hell.

Question for all the stock market handwringers in here.

If Trump wasn’t in office, how long do you think the upward trend in stock prices would’ve lasted?

It was way overvalued anyway, and it was a ticking time bomb.

Trump has preached for 45 years now that we were at a disadvantage from a trade perspective, and we were getting ripped off.

For all you “empathetic“ people in here, worrying about poor people, do you ever stop to think how maybe tariffs might bring a lot of good jobs back to them? Assuming they want to work of course.

The working class have been getting ripped off for decades now, and lining the pockets of the global elitists.

The Republican party has been just as guilty, with the likes of Romney, etc.

We finally have a president that has the balls to do what’s needed. For all you pussies that can’t get past his flaws, deal with it.

This country will go through some pain at first, but we will be much better off in the long run.

I can see Houston being more liberal than most of Texas, but not to the point of being a blue city.

Austin goes without saying. It’s been “different” for years.

San Antonio? 50/50.

El Paso? I don’t know shit about them. No friends there and never visited.

m2 has more current knowledge than I do on most of the state. That is, if he really does biz there.

What a completely idiotic argument. Who knows how long it would have lasted? The markets go up and the markets go down. But not by 20% or whatever, on the sudden whim of a brain damaged narcissist dotard. There is always a certain amount of predictability or at least some time to make informed adjustments.

This is like saying well you’re going to get sick somehow someday so let’s just give you a case of double pneumonia today and get it over with.

Is this what they teach to retarded Econ majors who couldn’t cut it in any other field?
Trump has preached for 45 years now that we were at a disadvantage from a trade perspective, and we were getting ripped off.

Of course you will. You people are more frightened of a trade war in which we hold every advantage than you are of actual wars with our kids coming home in bags.
Where do you see this going?
The bottom line result is inevitable. The balance of trade favors us in this situation. The way I see it going is that foreign nations will loosen their tariffs to avoid becoming uncompetitive in the American market or their corporations will relocate production to the US in order to get around the tariffs. Either way favors American business and American workers in the long term. Don't expect that the damage done to our economy by globalist 'free traitors' of both parties will be quickly or painlessly undone. You might feel a little pinch in the short term.

Where I see this going is to a healthy and prosperous middle class.

San Antonio isn't mostly White. It's almost 70% Hispanic.
I don’t know…the crowd at the semi-finals (in the stands at least) looks pretty white.
Those are the Houston fans that drove two and a half hours West on I-10

San Antonio streets make Boston's look normal. Miss an exit in San Antonio and good luck getting back to the same place within 30 to 45 minutes.

It should be like a home game for Houston when that game starts.

So you got in a lather because he went easy on selected countries as part of tactics? That's all you got out of that? :hammer:

I pointed out that V.D. is lying about reciprocal tariffs.

The alleged "tariffs" Dumpy's chart shows other countries slapping on the U.S. are made up bullsheet.

It is totally divorced from reality, and you and others should be ashamed for jocking this insanity.

Nobody gives a fuck about what you are trying to point out. Other countries have significant tariffs on American products. Period. Full fucking stop. If you are suggesting otherwise, you are lying or catastrophically stupid.

In the meantime, you can fuck off until you get your head straight.

Dumpy's tariff chart is fiction.

V.D. is lying.

You are spinning, and you are desperate.
