First time San Diego has ever had four teams in the NCAA tournament(s). SDSU and UCSD are both sending men's and women's teams. For UCSD it's the first year eligible because of the four year wait after jumping from D2. One of the guys on CBS went out on a limb and predicted UCSD upsetting Michigan in round 1 and then beating Yale in round 2. Sweet Sixteen in the first year of eligibility would be sweet.

State of Alabama has 4 teams in: Alabama, Auburn, Troy and ASU. UAB nearly got there, too.

Florida looks great.

My surprise sweet 16 team is Vandy. I'm pulling for St. Mary's since they are minutes from Cal and have a great Rugby team which gives Cal (best college Rugby team in history) fits when they play. Vandy should beat the Gaels and move on to Bama. Which I think they could beat and reach the 16.

Haven't seen all the teams so I'm not sure who I'm taking. Too busy with the NBA coming down the stretch out West and it's truly been Madness. The Warriors are 15-1 in games in which Jimmy "Buckets" has played since acquiring him.

Big game tonight in The City vs. The Joker and Denver. Then the next night against Giannis and the Bucks. Tough back to back and a real test.

The Cal women are in and the furd women are out for the first time in like 1,000 years or something like that.

Let the Madness begin!

I got to see David Thompson play a few times back in the day. Skywalker for sure.

A couple my friends bought four season tickets the first year the Clippers were in San Diego and a lot of us got to take advantage. Got to see all of the great players of the time when they came through town. Thompson, Ice Man Gervin, Moses Malone, Dr J... and the Baby Gorilla/Chocolate Thunder from the University of Mars, who I saw on the beach in PB one day that season. Unmistakable even from a distance. Thompson was inhuman.

We actually had a pretty entertaining team that season. Led by Randy Smith, Lloyd (soon to be "World B") Free, Freeman Williams, Sidney (Stone Hands) Wicks, Kermit (don't turn your back on him) Washington and the incomparable Swen Nater.

Thompson scored 73 points in an NBA game if I recall. Back when they didn't have a 3 point shot.

Their record was not worthy of an invite. The only reason they got in was because their AD sits at the top of the selection committee. There were a lot of pissed off schools that deserved to get in that didn't because of the Tar Heels AD basically adding his team because he could.

Since it's been a major story all over the country. I'm sure most of the posters understood what I meant.

Wow. The Aztecs really shit the bed last night. I switched to season two of Severance when the score was 33-13. It was a down year for them. Mostly first year players and a lot of injuries. They lost something like 90% of their scoring and minutes from last year but they still won 21 games. Coach Dutcher will have them back soon. They were in the championship game two years ago.

I hope the Tritips can at least make it to the second round.
