I'm mostly trolling, but... Of course you don't have a problem with the established construct. You're an Alabama fan. Your team benefits the most from this arbitrary selection system. You don't even have to win your division, let alone your conference, and you're allowed to play FCS schools in November, and you still get a free pass to the playoff simply because of your jerseys.
Hey, UCF beat the team that beat the two teams that played for the national championship. And we all know how infallible the transitive property is
. I'd just like to see an undefeated Group of 5 team at least have some sort of path to the playoff. Otherwise, what's the point of even having these schools in D1? Why should Power 5 teams be allowed to count wins against them if we're not going to let them compete for championships? If we're going to treat them as second-class citizens, then let's relegate them to a lower division, and disallow P5 teams from being able to schedule them/count wins against them.

When the SEC wins bowl games, you guys like to swing your dicks around and talk about how superior you are. When you lose them, you go to this built-in excuse of not being motivated. It's horseshit and you don't get to have it both ways. I watched that game and Auburn looked plenty motivated. It's not like they weren't trying to win. They simply lost to the better team. Why is that so hard to admit?Papa Willie wrote:Auburn played UCF exactly like they did Mercer (who they had a helluva time beating), LSU (second half), and UGA in the SECCG. They had no motivation at all. I fully expected UCF to win the game, because I knew Auburn was going to be in the mindset of "we've blown it - and there's nothing to play for".
Sure they could've.Mercer could have beaten about half of those teams.
