What happens when you get the multi-billion dollar corporations - Big Tech, Big Pharma, foreign money, etc., able to form collaboration with politicians susceptible to corruption via payouts and power with the media which controls the messaging to the population of the country?

Re: The Lakers appear to be trying....nice starting lineup
They've got starting quality players coming off the bench to back up those monsters.
I'd say that lineup is pretty good at getting to the rim. The veterans won't let Jamison do his show-up-when-he-feels-like-it act, so they should have a quality player there.
At least my ragtag, swiss cheese Zers get to open the season with them. Gonna be a long year for us. A couple of drafts away from being decent.
Although Damian Lillard is looking like the real deal at PG (we'll see).

I'd give Mike Brown 15-20 games to get right this ship. If he can't, get Jerry Sloan on the phone.

Yeah, I can see a real no-nonsense coach like Sloan getting along REAL well with a bunch of overpaid, under-performing primadonnas like Lakers.
Re: The Lakers appear to be trying....nice starting lineup
Tasty.
Blazers are now guaranteed at least 2 games at or above .500. The Lakers are guaranteed to be .500 or below for at least 5 games.
20 & 11 is a good start.
Hmmm... Blazers drafted a potential superstar in the first round... we'll be expecting the other shoe to drop momentarily.
Any bets on how many games before the career-ender hits?

Please tell me you're not referring to Miles Leonard. That guy was a pansy in college, and that he's starting for Portland tells me all I need to know about Portland's chances this year.Dinsdale wrote:Hmmm... Blazers drafted a potential superstar in the first round...
Re: The Lakers appear to be trying....nice starting lineup
You mean Myers Leonard?
No, dumbass. First, he doesn't start (we have TVO starting at center). Second, he's been much better than expected in his limited minutes.
Why don't you maybe... watch some NBA, or even Sportscenter or the equivalent before yapping.
Did I not already mention Damien Lillard in this very thread? You know, the guy whose early-career achievements are matched only by the names Oscar Robertson and Grant Hill? The guy that ESPN and TNT have monster boners for?
That guy? The already shoe-in for ROY?
But Leonard has played quite well. As far as "pussy" -- dude's been thugging hard so far. Started trying to beat the hell out of Dwight Howard in his first freaking game.

Your youthful enthusiasm is refreshing...and you have endured a lot....but "premature" doesn't do justice to the names you're dropping on comparing this kid with....a handful of games is a handful of games.
