No, Algore didn't claim to "invent" the internet -- he claims to have "created" it, as per your own link.

Nevermind that TCP/IP has been around since Algore was a boy.

"I created the internet."

"The earth's core is very hot -- millions of degrees."

Is there any lie this fuck won't tell for personal gain?

I'd love to see his defiled corpse dragged through the streets. Any political power-monger who's that willing to steal from the people he claims to be "saving" should be executed -- teach the global socialists a lesson about how we're going to treat what has become the largest crime syndicate in history.

It's big enough to make a difference. Of course Gore's political enemies are only too happy to use dolts like yourself to perpetuate their lie.

"Their lie"?

WTF is wrong with you?

Gore LIED. Period. EOS. He spun an absolutely ridiculous tale for no other reason than to further his lust for power and wealth.

You fucking idiot.

The sad thing is that complete buffoons like yourself will actually, for some inexplicable reason, defend him doing so.

You have obviously either invested much of your personal assets in the global socialist movement for personal gain, or are just amazingly naive -- the only reasonable explainations for your idiocy.

Didn't Gore attempt to explain that what he meant was that he was involved with the appropriations process that led to funding the initial phases of what turned into the internet?? LOL!!

I chalked it up as just another deliberate lie just like the union lullaby his mother sang him when he was a child although the song hadn't been created until his late twenties.

Or the grandmother he told us all was starving and it turned out she refused public assistance and the help of her wealthy sons or some such shit.

In the end he was a POS simply lying his ass off to convince us his multimillionaire ass was just like one of ours...see John Edwards, see Barack Obama...it's the typical liberal political speech.

Jagoff, no goal post shifting here. You liberals view the world through an oppressor/victim lens. That's why lib politicians play this game that they're normal Joes having lived under someone else's boot. Hence, Gore lying about his mother singing union songs to him and Edwards exaggerating his father's employment at a mill. Kerry is the same way. Obama ran it last year, too.

Obama didn't need to fabricate jack shit. His father ran out on the family and his mother was so broke assed that she was on food stamps for a while. Not sure what you mean by Edwards "exaggerating" his father's employment at a mill, but it's probably immaterial now as Edwards' career is history. The fact is that Edwards' dad did work at a mill and worked his way up to be a supervisor. You ever work in any kind of factory? I know I worked at a bunch of them while in college and they all SUCKED. I pity anyone that has to work in one of those places and I admire the man who can smile while he does. Oh, and the melody for the union song was written by Jerome Kern, many years before Gore was born, and called "Look for the Silver Lining".

Here's Judy Garland taking a turn with it.

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7k1op ... shortfilms

Now kindly STFU dumbass.

I think the article is pretty clear on that. What he intended to overstate was his accomplishments in pushing for the use of the infrastructure built under DARPA and predominantly for military needs for non-military purposes.

To quote the snopes article linked.
A spirited defense of Gore's claim by Vint Cerf (often referred to as the "father of the Internet") notes "that as a Senator and now as Vice President, Gore has made it a point to be as well-informed as possible on technology and issues that surround it," although many of the components of today's Internet came into being well before Gore's first term in Congress began in 1977.

It is true, though, that Gore was popularizing the term "information superhighway" in the early 1990s (although he did not, as is often claimed by others, coin the phrase himself) when few people outside academia or the computer/defense industries had heard of the Internet, and he sponsored the 1988 National High-Performance Computer Act (which established a national computing plan and helped link universities and libraries via a shared network) and cosponsored the Information Infrastructure and Technology Act of 1992 (which opened the Internet to commercial traffic).

In May 2005, the organizers of the Webby Awards for online achievements honored Al Gore with a lifetime achievement award for three decades of contributions to the Internet. "He is indeed due some thanks and consideration for his early contributions," said Vint Cerf.
I worked for the Fed during the Clinton/Gore years and can attest to a push to utilize the internet to streamline bureaucratic processes, automate them, and  "web enable" a lot of standard forms, info, etc..

I knew what he meant, understood it to be somewhat of an overstatement but if a man like Vint Cerf can give an Al a nod, who the fuck am I not to ?

All the geeks and techies in the world couldn't put the internet together without MONEY coming from somewhere. That somewhere usually starts with the suits, palm pressers, baby kissers, and yes ....

exaggerators like Al Gore.

BSmack, Gore explained away the union lullaby, which was not written until he was 27, as a "joke". He was lying.

Edwards was fond of telling us how much of a blue collar worker his old man was when, in fact, his dad worked only a short time as a laborer before going up to supervisor and then higher.

And I was referring to Obama's community agitating, errr, organizing. He pretended he was out there among ordinary folks. Well, I guess if ordinary folks include racist preachers and terrorists.

You're a clueless rube.

Barry has NO chance in 2012.

Zero.

0%

None.

Not ANY chance.

Toast.

You can slam that into your brick head.

I think there's a good chance he won't even make it to 2012 in the Oval Office.

He's already lost those who put him in office -- the moderates, and they most definitely will NOT be coming back.

NO way.

Some on the left will dutifully suck his nuts dry no matter what he does (that's you, dummy), but it won't help him in the least in 2012 ... if he's even in the picture at all.

He and his braindead cohorts in Washington have set us on a course of certain failure and things are going to get SO bad that Barry will barely be able to show his face in public.

You're a clueless rube.

Barry has NO chance in 2012.

Zero.

0%

None.

Not ANY chance.

Toast.

You can slam that into your brick head.

Not so sure of this.

First off, the reps are gifted in the art of fielding shit candidates.

Thirdly, They could turn the presses up to ludicrous speed in the year or so before the election to stimulate us into an apparent recovery, kinda like they are doing right now.

This shouldn't work with semi intelligent voters, but, unfortunately, the IQ of our voting public ain't anything to write home about.
