You lost, get over it

Post by Dinsdale »

What a bunch of losers. I hate it when a political party loses an election, and then still whines about it after the fact, and has the nerve to blame their loss on the Supremem Court. I know you guys HATE that too, since you bring it up daily 5 years later.

Whiney bitches.
BELLEVUE, Wash. - A judge Monday upheld Democrat Christine Gregoire's victory in last fall's governor's election, and defeated GOP candidate Dino Rossi said he would not appeal - ending the legal fight over the closest gubernatorial election in U.S. history.

"With today's decision, and because of the political makeup of the Washington State Supreme Court, which makes it almost impossible to overturn this ruling, I am ending the election contest," Rossi said at his campaign headquarters in Bellevue.

The election - decided by an amazingly narrow margin of 129 votes out of 2.9 million cast - included 1,678 illegally cast ballots, Chelan County Superior Court Judge John Bridges found.

But in a ruling issued in his Wenatchee courtroom, Bridges said Republicans had failed to prove that Rossi would have won had those votes been disregarded.

"Unless an election is clearly invalid, when the people have spoken their verdict should not be disturbed by the courts," Bridges said. Nullifying the election, he said, would be "the ultimate act of judicial egotism and judicial activism."

The judge threw out only a few illegally cast votes, which raised Gregoire's margin of victory to 133.
I believe the phrase you guys use is --

"Get over it. You lost. MoveOn."

The tearfully funny part was that the GOP whined and cried for a recount, since they claimed the dems actually rigged the election with ringers, and they ended up losing votes.

They already had about 43 of them, dumbfuck.

The GOP continued to whine through recount after recount. And every recount got worse and worse for them.

It was terribly funny watching a GOPer literally whine and whine about fair elections and whatnot. If they would have got a new vote(which they were trying for for a while), do they think that many people would have voted for a complete whiner the second time?

A fair point, but if you thought you won and got totally screwed, you'd bitch too.

It seems to me that if there were in the neighborhood of 2000 illegally cast votes and the margin of victory was just over 100 that they should have had a run-off. Seems like a no-brainer.

I hate it when losers like Dins can't MoveOn and snipes at Bush on completely unreasonable grounds and instead starts pussy threads like this one. I'm sure he was in cheerleading section when Gore was contesting Florida.

BTW - exaggeration gets you nothing, Dins. 43 recounts?? LOL!!

The Republican candidate won the first count. Then, as if by magic, Democratic King County just happened to find some new ballots that pushed the Democratic candidate over the top.

What a farce this is...the issue shouldn't have been whether one of the candidates received any of the illegal votes. Rather the issue should have been whether the illegal votes resulted in not being able to determine a winner. That answer is easy and the appropriate thing to do is to conduct a new election.

But, the Democrats in King County were compelled to cheat...

As soon as you had slack-jawed nimrods trying to determine voter intent by looking at dimpled, dangling and hanging chads, they should have done the whole fucking thing over in those counties. If there's a clear margin of victory (more than a thousand votes), then it should stand, but otherwise, why not?

Not surprising that each recount got worse as new ballots magically appeared each time...LOL!!!

Why is it funny watching people whine about unfair elections. It's not similarly funny when Democrats do it? I don't think it is funny at all. King County has done Washington state a huge disservice by manufacturing votes, failing to verify voter eligibility, and failing to maintain the integrity of the election.

What about Florida? The problem in 2000 was poor ballot design and voter error and not voter eligibility and fabricated ballots.

Why is it no suprise that the beautiful irony of this is lost on you people? The GOP supporters here have spent the last 4.5 years stroking themselves by repeating "You lost! Get over it!" as a mantra. Now, when the hand is on the other foot shoe, all of a sudden it's "Wha! The dems rigged an election! I'm going to cry to my mother!"

The Supreme Court has spoken. You lost. Get over it. MoveOn. Or alternately, you could MoveOn past the anti-Americanism that the two-party system has brought, and quit cheering for one corrupt party over the next like they were your local sports team or something. But, that would require that you A) Had something going for you besides some rah-rah "I WON!!! Yayyyyy Me!" mentality that makes your sorry ass feel like you're part of the winning team, and B) that you think for yourself. Many, if not most people aren't capable of that, and will continue to choose what they feel is the lesser of evils, rather than what's right or wrong.

But the show is not on the other foot, dolt. This is not a comparable event, as I earlier demonstrated.

Looks like Dino Rossi has kicked Dins' ass...
Excerpt of Dino Rossi statement, June 6, 2005:

“With today’s decision in mind, and because of the political makeup of the Washington State Supreme Court – which makes it almost impossible to overturn this ruling – I am ending this election contest. I wish Christine Gregoire and her family all the best.

“I don’t make this decision lightly, but I also don’t make it with bitterness or hard feelings. I continue to believe – and I think most Washingtonians believe – that mounting this election challenge, and shining the light on very serious problems in our election system, was the right thing to do.”

By your logic, Al Gore kicked your ass.

How does one paragraph erase 7 month of (literal) whining?

And the issue is no different from Florida. The election was conducted, the ballots were counted, the loser protested, the Supreme Court upheld the results.

The only difference is that it's your side that's doing the whining, crying, and failing to "MoveOn." So naturally, it's TOTALLY different....in YOUR world, not this one. You lost. Get over it. MoveOn.

It may not be en vogue, but I actually possess the ability to poke fun at people I vote for.

In 2000, while Al Gore was concentrating on recounts and hanging chads, Dubya declared victory and started forming his cabinet. You know, it's really not as funny if I have to stop and explain it.

No. Gore was attempting to change election rules after the election was conducted.

You mean 7 months of following the law?

Not only do I poke fun, but I also blast and criticize.

BTW - Bush didn't start filling Cabinet posts until after January 20th.
