The Cubbies unload troubled catcher Michael Barret to the Padres for a back up catcher and some kid half way through puberty.
Can't wait until the Cubs play the Padres next and see Barret step up to the plate to get plunked by Zambrano.

His biggest problem is that is he doesn't kiss his pitchers' asses. I heard him in an interview on Chicago radio last week...he didn't seem to be afraid to be up front and honest with the pitching staff and I think he turned a lot of them off. It seemed inevitable that this was going to happen because no one really backed him up. The Padres seem like a pretty mellow and laid back team...we'll see if he'll fit in with the best pitching staff in the NL.

I don't think they play each other again this year and Barret is a free agent. Unless Barret stays in the NL and is a starter, I doubt this thing turns into Mesa/Vizquel 2.Dog wrote:The Cubbies unload troubled catcher Michael Barret to the Padres for a back up catcher and some kid half way through puberty.
