Wanna explain how in the middle of a pennant race, which your team is sorta in, that you guys trade a hitter to the Red Sox? You know, the team right in front you? Baseball 101- don't trade to your rivals, especially when you're only 5 games behind them.

shit teams and orgs will do that

see pittsburgh trading away half their team to contenders in their division yearly(see cubs roster)

hinske isn't exactly a great player. average at best. you can get better for free on waivers.,

He's solid enough to do some damage. In the Douleheader yesterday he went 3-7 with 3 doubles. The logic behind this trade baffles me. The Jays are 8 back in the East and 7.5 back in the WC with 40 to play, including 8 against Boston. String together a couple wins and you're back in it big time.

Judging by the Jay's effort today, I'd say they're just about out of it.

Salary dump. Same as the trading of Scott Schoenweiss to the Reds the day before.. it's all about freeing up some money for next season now.
Not all of us are fortunate to have owners that have unlimited budgets..

Truth is they've been trying to get rid of Hinske for the past 2 years now and nobody would take him. Next year he's set to make over $5 million and for a bench player on a team that has an actual budget.. that's $4 million too much.

As for being in it, people here are realistic, with the state of the Jays starting pitching or lack of it, the season was over before they dumped those two contracts.

Aftter yet another Jay getting into a scrap with the manager and rumours running rampant that there's more than one or two others who have said they want out...

I'm guessing it's going to be needed just to field a team that's not made up of triple a for next season..

Time for an upper management house cleaning...
