A Rod article-- your thoughts?

Post by Jack »

Would he be so hated if he joined the Red Sox? Would he play better if he were at SS? and not make so many throwing errors?

Read this article and give us your thoughts!

Why do we hate this guy?

"It's ridiculous, but that play defines him in a lot of people's minds," says Alex Belth, author of the Yankee blog Bronx Banter. "It's become this monster, this thing that feeds on itself and will never die."

I'll tell you why I'm upset with A-rod. Well there are many players with better numbers than him. They traded Soriano for him who has much better numbers. Granted the Yanks have Cano but I think Soriano is an absolute stud.
As far as hating A-Rod...I don't, I just don't like the fact that he's a pretty boy. He doesn't have the grit of a Paul O'Neil, Scott Brosius. The Yanks are missing that type of guy. The guy who smashes the hell out of a water cooler when he strikes out with men on base in a key situation, a guy who shows a competitive side. It seems that A-Rod just goes a long and if things don't go well it's no big deal. I don't really know if he cares and it's difficult to see the evidence of it, but after a strike out or making an out his facial expressions just don't convey an attitude of WANTING to win. That's it......

If he goes up to Fenway next weekend and puts in a tremendous effort that wins games both offensively and defensively, like he is capable of, then he'll be appreciated much more by the Bronx fans I'm sure.

Let's hope that he gets booed real bad next weekend in Boston.
We Boston Fans love him actually. Always happy to see A-Fraud up at the plate with the game on the line.
