Now that you're a few years into the Dusty Era, do you still think he's one of the top managers in MLB?

well there's a little bit of I told you so in there,
but only because I told you so. :)
He's just not a finisher. He clicked well in SF because he had the talent to work with, but again he could not bring it home. When the talent level soured, his shortcomings were painfully clear.
Lou Piniella would be a short term fix at best. After the honeymoon period players will get used to him and the same old mediocrity will set in.
Lou hasn't finished in first place but 2 times in the last ten years, and he's been remodeling the basement of the AL east ever since he arrived there.
But change can be good, and you just gotta hope its a long honeymoon.
