Exactly. You claim to be Rainman-esque and you still got only 68% correct. Those are some tough questions, especailly for the semi-younger crowd.

By the standards of that quiz, anyone younger than Wolfman would qualify for being part of the semi-younger crowd.

35.

I pwn the PBS Doc. by Ken Burns on Baseball and I've watched the multiple DVDs tens of times. Probably the coolest doc ever allowed by Baby Jesus. This is the only way I knew half the questions.

I even felt my brain grow a lil' bit.

I don't much about the really old history of the game...most of the ones I got right were the stats and record questions. I got 13 of the final 17 questions. I bombed the first half of the quiz.

You took it again and scored a 27?

Why the fuck did you take it again, and didn't you peruse the ones you missed the first time?

You answered 36 questions correctly out of a possible 50 questions.

Half guessing and half I knew.

That's "old time baseball" trivia!!

Watching Ken Burns baseball helped. ..

41 out of 50.

The ones I missed...
8) Which Hall of Fame pitcher is credited with inventing the curve ball?

10) Who invented the box score and is often called the father of baseball?

19) Who holds the AL record for highest batting average (.426) in a season? (Can't belive I wiffed on that one)

25) What Hall of Fame manager was known as the 'Old Perfesser'? (Another one I should have nailed)

26) Who holds the record for most home runs (38) by a pitcher?

40) Who is the only player from a losing team to win a World Series MVP?

43) Who is the only player to win the All-Star MVP and World Series MVP in the same season?

44) How many perfect games have been thrown?

45) Who was the first pitcher to record 300 career saves? (Should have gone with the obvious answer)
That's a solid baseball trivia quiz. When I was a younger baseball geek, I would have easily gotten 45 or so right. Now it appears that Casey Stengel and Rollie Fingers have had their places in my brain replaced by less important things like my wife's birthday and my wedding aniversary. ;)

Of those, I got 10, 26 and 43 right. Agree with you on 45, I was kicking myself over that one.

With all due respect...............

Bullshit. You would have to have authored the encyclopedia of baseball to get 47. But if in fact you did score that high....Rack You.

Actually, I got all of those right. The newspaper question was an educated guess, the others I knew.

Rack you if you're telling the truth.

i still think you're lying, Mace.

Except that we don't call it lying around these parts. We call it fibbing, as in, Mace fibbed about all those big ole fish he once caught on that Ioway farm pond

You would have to be like 150 years old..., or maybe just an exceptionally good guesser.

Oh well, at least my score was better than most others on here. So far, you and BSmack are the only ones to beat me.

It's hard to remember the names of all of those little leaguers, JCT, but I do remember ol' Cy being a Yankee fan back in the day and, because of that, all of the other kids just called him Douchebag. I missed the question because Douchebag wasn't an option on the multiple choice quiz. My bad. :)

Mace

No wonder you're missed it Mr. 99%. Back then the Yankees didn't exist as they were the original Baltimore O's. Get some glasses ump.
