Fox needs to lose it's baseball contract.

Gee Magoo...why don't you go to the WC forum and find out?
There, you might see where I pointed out that my WC team is England, since I first knew what a soccerball was.
You know...England...that country that hasn't won a Cup in my lifetime?
That one country I'm a citizen of(in addition to America, of course).
See, I didn't bandwagon just because a buncha fools thought the US team was all that...nope, stuck with the same team I've always rooted for my whole life...just like every other team I root for, in every other sport.
See how that works?

You weren't talking to me, but my $.02MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:It's entirely about it being The Yankees. The Mets, Phillies, Cards, Red Sox...pretty much a free pass. But it's sooooooooo easy to jump on the Yankee wagon.
Mets, Phillies, Cards = National League. 'Nuff said.
Red Sox= Red Sox. 'Nuff said, again.
I root for the Yankees. My dad was a lifelong Yankee fan, and when I was growing up (about the same time as Dins), the Yankees were on TV quite a lot. But by your logic (which you don't follow, since you live in Michigan and root for the A's), I should be a Blue Jays fan, since they're the closest team, geographically speaking, to me. Never mind that the Blue Jays didn't even enter MLB until I was 12.
Btw, if I wasn't a Yankee fan, there'd be a pretty good chance that I'd be an Oriole fan, given that Crapchester had their AAA affiliate from 1961 until 2002. But since I'm a Yankee fan, that means that I hate the Orioles.

Cut him slack, Terry.
There's a good chance he's never even seen a B&W TV.
And I'm guessing he grew up with cable TV, as well, so he can't be expected to understand the whole "game of the week/Monday Night Baseball" concept.
Baseball on TV was pretty slim pinkin's back then. Yankees, Dodgers, and Red Sox ruled the airwaves back then.

Yep. Seeing as we're from the same area, Niagara Falls here. My first memories of baseball are sitting with my dad when I was 4 and seeing Chris Chambliss hit the HR in '76. Blue Jays came in '77 and we went to see the Yanks play. Me my dad, gramps, and a couple uncles. 1977 I saw Catfish Hunter pitch, Reggie, Sweet Lou, Mick the Quick, Thurmun and Nettles play. Die hard ever since, fuck the haters.
When we finally got cable watched the Yanks play on WPIX. HOLY COW , Reggie hit another one!! Reggie Jackson this Bud's for you!

Actually, since Mgo roots for the A's, he might be interested in knowing that the A's won three consecutive World Series when I was a little kid. Dins was a few years younger than me, so he might not remember that.
Back then, I remember everyone thinking the A's looked like a softball team. They had the green and gold unis and wore white spikes. My dad used to call them hippies, because they all wore their hair long and had mustaches.
I used to hate them, and I rooted against them any chance I got. Then the era of free agency came, and Charlie Finley, fearing that contracts would explode, broke up the team. After that, in the late 70's the A's were kind of a laughingstock until Rickey Henderson came along. I almost felt sorry for them back then. Almost.
Btw, I hated Reggie Jackson, Catfish Hunter and Ken Holtzman when they played for the A's, but then I loved them a couple years later when they were playing for the Yankees. Of course, I'm not the first fan to ever get that way about a player, nor will I be the last.

Just caught this weak assed response-pardon the absence, but this thing called a "life" down here in S.D. dictates my absence on these boards
Thanks for proving my point, you pathetic frontrunning cockhuffer.
For real sports fans, there can only be one.
There isnt a motherfucker in the NFL forum (save for Paul) who has a "second team". Ditto in real life with those I know.
From a "supposed" real yankeefan, what you just wrote was fucking blasphemy. I have been to New York many, many times-and real yankeefan is absolutely fucking NUTS about thier team-Kinda like Raiderfan, minus the "stab, shoot, and beat your ass" factor.
Thanks for playing, but your fucking novels only proved my point of you being a bandwagoning fuckpuddle. Congrats.
I will thank you for the double BODE feeling of knowing that Angel dick is firmly entrenched down both of your teams throats yearly. Tard.

RACK Dimension Cable.
Remember when we finally got Prime ticket and it came on the air at like 5pm? The good old days of basic cable.
