Bonds on Bonds
Anyone watch it?
It was pathetic. Exactly what I thought it would be. He constantly talked about how everyone is trying to bring him down. Trying to destroy him. Of course, Bonds gets the final say in what gets put on the air. At the end, he breaks down like a baby and is crying saying he doesn't care what people think about him. Yeah, that's why he's crying...
You know what? I DON'T think he cares. I think he pulled the tear jerk session to get some public sympathy for the investigation he's about to go through. Didn't work here. Still can't wait for his heart to explode. Hope it happens as he touches home plate on his 754th trip around the bases.

Just caught it today.
I like Bonds. This was not always the case. When he was in Pittsburgh I bought into the anti-Barry media. I listened when they said he was rude and obnoxious. Over the years I grew to admire his greatness as a player. I've become a fan of his, and it's now clear to me that the media goes after him more than any other player.
I like the way baseball is the family business. I like the Bobby, Willie, Barry connection. I like the way he plays the game. I think he's in the top three all-time greats. I think it's a priveledge to see one of the greatest ever play in our lifetime. I root for Bonds in his quest to surpass Babe and Hank.
All the haters only drive Bonds to new heights. He has managed to use the negativity as a motivator. Who can blame him for his rocky relationship with the media? Not myself or anyone on these boards. None of us know what it is like to live under such scrutiny. When TV and print media tries to tear him down, they do a disservice to the game itself. When the attacks become personal, the fail to realize that the man has a family. Think about his kids. No child should be taunted because of who his dad is, or because the media has an axe to grind

a. Never mentioned Pete Rose. Different topic entirely.
b. Never called you a hater.
c. Don't give a shit about the Olympics, and even less about a Canadian athlete.
I only offered one man's opinion. You don't like it, cool. I didn't say Barry was without faults. I didn't say he didn't roid up. I do think it's been a media witch hunt for many years, alot of it unjustified. Let's attack and villianize McGwire and Sosa. Those freaks brought this whole roid era into play. That historic season was a fucking joke, but does anyone fuck with them...no. Unlike Mac and Sosa, Barry is a five tool player. One of the all-time greats. Take away 200 dingers (probably far less can be attributed to juice) and his stats still merit all time great status. I'm proud to say that I've seen him play in person. He'll be enshrined, first ballot, book it.

My disdain for Bonds is no greater than my disdain for Mac and Sosa. Mac is gone. Sosa will never be back, not worth a shit anyways. I never had a negative opinion of Bonds before the roid crap. He’s an asshole? So what? Many athletes are assholes. I’m not in the media. I don’t care if he’s an asshole.
What I care about is he is a cheater. He deserves an asterisk. Plain and simple. He WOULD have been a first ballot in my book had he not chosen to roid up and cheat. McGwire or Sosa, in my mind, don’t deserve HOF status either. Not after what they did.
It was a great day for me when Mac exposed himself with the “I’m not here to talk about the past” broken record in front of Congress. I’m not busting your balls for your opinion. I just have not been able to comprehend how some can excuse his cheating. He has tarnished what was a great career and he has helped tarnish a great game. The game can fix itself. He cannot.

Barry is a 5 tool player
1: Arrogant
2: Cheater
3: Lazy
4: rude
5: he's just an ass
One good thing about Barry is that I can use him as a role model for my kids as what NOT to be. Greatness aside let's look at the total person. You want scrutiny? It's part of the job and for the amount of money he gets paid just shut up and deal with it. There are many professions that are scrutinized everyday and don't make near the money he makes...and he plays a game for God's sake. It's not like he has to work. I wonder how he would behave if the media was nice to him. Oh wait they have been it's only in the last few years that he's been a total jerk off. It's their job asshole and if they didn't do their job and the media wasn't around then nobody would know who this POS is
I do want to thank Barry though. Thanks for being a shining example of what not to be. You crybaby, whiny, little bitch.

Anyone that thinks Bonds is some how a victim of all the increase media attention to him and his family is a fookin idiot.
Bonds cheated and the reason he cheated is because a cheater before him (McGuire) was getting all the attention and Bond's couldn't stomach that. Bonds isn't a victim by any stretch of the imagination, rather he has brought this attention on to himself and despite his miserable SOB attitude I am sure he is enjoying it. This is what he wanted. He wants to be talked about. He wants to be written about. He wants to be loved and hated because it is what he thrives on.
Bond's does not deserve anyone's pity. In fact, I invite everyone in this forum who watches games on tv or who goes to games etc.. to change the channel when Bonds is up. If you're at the game, turn your back or go get another beer. Do whatever you can to avoid this baby. Bonds is an attention whore and baseball fans should make it known to him that his kind is not welcome in the game anymore.

Rack. Every morning I order a sausage patty, a scrambled egg and a large coffee from McDonald's. Every morning, they tell me to "pull up" because they have to make the scrambled egg. While I'm waiting 5 additional minutes, usually 10 cars or so get their orders. Hard to believe none of those 10 got eggs.Laxplayer wrote:There are many professions that are scrutinized everyday and don't make near the money he makes...and he plays a game for God's sake.
Anyhow, back to the point. When I am told to pull up, I always say "DON'T FORGET MY PICANTE SAUCE WHEN YOU BRING IT OUT!" I usually get a "It's already in the bag, sir." Well this morning they forgot my picante...again. I scrutinized that bitch all the way to work, and she don't make jack.
Fuck Barroid. Can't wait till he John Ritters himself.
