Just another victim

Post by BSmack »

Well she was crying and everything. They should just let her break the rules and have her way.
TAMPA - Before David Kelley went to Iraq, he bought his wife a "Support Our Troops" sign to display outside the couple's home in the Westchase subdivision.

When Kelley, an Army private, went overseas in November, Stacey Kelley posted the sign outside their home. For her, the sign is a daily reminder of the sacrifice her husband and fellow soldiers are making.

But officials of Westchase, in northwest Hillsborough County, view the sign differently. They say the 2-foot-high sign violates community rules. Stacey Kelley, 24, received a letter from the homeowners association last month stating she could be fined $100 a day if she does not remove the sign.

"I've been crying and everything since I got that," she said. "It's ridiculous that no one can even show their support."

Deed restrictions prohibit Westchase residents from displaying signs outside their homes except "for sale" or "for rent" notices. Residents get a copy of the rules when they move into the community.

You see, it's always those poor white people who are the victims. If she was black they would have let her put up her Kwanza sign, play rap music real loud all day long and talk real loud with all her homegirls.

Seriously.

My guess is that he is a complete failure in life who can't accept the fact that he is the one who sucks not the country.
The failure is the one who doesn't understand how much I love America.

Deep down, I think he does, but he chooses to politicize patriotism instead. That's even more despicable, imho.

Bullshit. You are fooling nobody.
Logic isn't your stong suit I know. But would it be too much for you to follow along?

The correct answer is that you fooled yourself.

I live in one of those communities, and I think the rules, while some are restrictive apply equally to all, so what is the problem?.

I know what the rules are. If I break them, I can be fined. My choice. Bitching about them won't change them.

If she needs a daily reminder, she should get a big planter pot, fill it with dirt, stick the sign in there, and put it in her living room. Then she'll be reminded everyday she tries to see the TV.

Hell, she can always move somewhere they allow signage. Unitl then STFU.

She could also make a big sign that says For Rent and then in larger letters write BTW, Support Our Troops.

Racist. Why can't you just see that she is an oppressed person?

I lived in a HOA in Henderson, NV that didn't allow clotheslines.

Pretty fuckin' whack in the middle of the desert where a pair of 501s would dry in about 15 minutes as opposed to an hour in the dryer.

I put a foldable clothesline in a can of cement and placed it where nobody could see it from the street.

Why do you hate Home Owner's Associations?!?

--Goosestepping Liberal Tard
Cause they're mostly ruled by goosestepping retirement Nazis who have nothing better to do than cruise around looking for "violations". Fuck that. The house I live in now I can paint purple and pink if I want to (but I don't want to). The only rule here is to keep the brush cut back, and that comes from CDF.

They have some wack rules here, too. Fence height limits of 5 feet being one of them, unless it is a block wall, then it doesn't apply.

It's all about property values an' keepin' the riff raff out. That's why I moved into a neighborhood already full of riff raff. And the proprety values are just fine here.

But you most definitely won't find any Rack Fu types around.

Oh, I see. Sort of a gated community for over-fed, GAP clothes wearing, community college
educated, cookie-cutter suburbanites, who's greatest threat comes not from Al Queda, but the very real fear of not rating highly when compared to their equally credit maxed-out neighbours.

Gotcha.

When I was in law school I lived in a townhouse that was subject to a HOA. One time I left my bicycle out on the deck. You would have thought that I robbed a bank or something, the way all hell broke loose.

"Peak Oil" will rip your head off and shit down your throat.

You'll be living in a petro-ghetto in ten years. Suburbs are glue-traps for moronic consumers

Not where I live. The average home price here is $650,000, and 30% of them are second homes.

This is not your average community. "Peak oil" won't harm many here.

There's plenty of energy out there. It may not be in the form of oil, and we may be moving towards it all too slowly, but it is out there. When the American consumer becomes too incovienenced, then the real push towards alternative energy will commence.

In other words, the magical Fossil Fuel Fairy will come and wave her magic wand over the planet, just in the nick of time, thereby relieving SUV owners everywhere of burdensome gas bills.

I don't see why anyone needs to be so angry and insulting all the time. It gets old really fast and takes away from the discussion, plus it proves nothing. I've already made this point. I won't spend my entire time on line editing insults out of posts. If they're just outright bad I can cut them or move them. Other wise, I just hope that common sense would prevail.

Hey Marty, The US is about 50% of the worlds economy and investment opportunities. If you don't think someone will solve the fuel problem before it chokes us, you are the same kind of clueless that they are. millionaires and corporations hate losing money.

Can't afford to live in one, eh Phibes? ;)

As for me, I like the fact that when I am travelling, which I do regularly, my family is safe from the casual criminal, because we have our own police force that responds within minutes. Haven't ever had to call em.
And we have the counties lowest crime rate.
That right there is worth the price of admission.

Then there's the lake, the olympic pool, the country club, the tennis courts, the beach, etc etc. I can walk arond at night and know the average meth head isn't going to mug me. They can't get in here.

So bust on it if you like. I can afford it, and my family benefits greatly from it.

Stick that in your ghetto pipe and smoke it.

Hmm. Sounds like the perfect way to isolate yourself from the rot and decay of American society.

I would like to visit this place dressed as a minstrel and sing 'Ol man river' at top of my lungs, but I'll wager the collective thrum of air-conditioners would drown me out.

Unless you were part of the local theatre group putting on a darkie musical, you wouldn't get close enough to hear the thrum of the beautiful people not sweating.

Of course at this time of the year it is the sweet smell of apple wood burning in the fireplaces accompanied by the dulcet sounds of pink floyds "Money" that would prevent you from making an impact.
