... Uniforms
"Form Fitting, sleek... etc..."
If there's one thing the NHL doesn't need to fuck with it's the uniforms.
Is it these geniuses noew motto: "If it ain't broke, fix it till it IS"?
Shootout's suck ass too, btw

I wish they didn't have to decide games with shootouts but they are a lot of fun to watch. I don't like the best-of-3 instead of best-of-5 though.
As for the uniforms, Reebok is supposedly going to redesign all of the uniforms and model them after the new Nike Olympic jerseys. The idea of this sickens me...I can't fathom seeing the Wings, Blackhawks, Canadiens, Rangers or Maple Leafs uniforms looking different. Especially the Blackhawks...those uniforms are perfect.

I've heard it's more than just redesigining the sweaters, but the whole fucking uniform & pads to supposedly make it form-fitting... etc.
I can't think of more than a couple jerseys in the whole league that need redesigning, btw

I saw a preview of them. They look pretty good. They're not messing that much with team colors or anything like that.
Form fitting is not literal. They just lost the excess material on the arm, under the armpit and the bottom of the jersey.
I thought they looked really sharp.

Here's the scoop on the Red wing uniform:
Noting that in 1927, when known as the Detroit Falcons, the franchise had both red and black striping, the Red Wings have announced their new uniforms will contain black accents.
“The history of this franchise is very important to us, as are the fan’s desires.” said owner Mike Ilitch. “We feel the fan want to see a more modern look. With Detroit’s Lions adding black with such great success recently, I thought it was only natural to bring the same look to the Red Wings.”
Reebok designers worked with the Red Wings to bring a fresh look to the new style form-fitting jerseys. “The fan’s reception to the black practice jerseys was so overwhelmingly positive, we capitalized on that for the new design of the game jerseys.”
The jerseys are said to closely resemble the current practice jerseys, as Reebok has stated most NHL teams’ new jerseys will, but with black cuffs and collar and black panels under the white gusset inserts.
The new Red Wings home jersey will be red, and will feature a mid-weight ULTRAFIL polyester construction, as well as double layered shoulders, black interlock neck trim, reinforced stitching on the shoulders and armholes, with black cuffs and white polyester mesh gusset inserts for better ventilation. Below the gussets, the jersey will be black. The flying wheel chest crest will feature a black drop shadow, and the jersey will have black player numbers under the white player name. Piping across the shoulders will be reflective white.
The new jersey, to be released after the Stanley Cup finals, will be available for purchase for fans who want to get a step ahead of the 2006-2007 season.
It's like wearing a rugby jersey. More practical for the jersey wearing fan.
