Ziggy Palffy Retires
Damn. I was not expecting this at all. He was such a talented offensive player, there were nights with the Kings where everytime he touched the puck you thought he might score. He wasn't dominating on a night to night basis, but the other players made sure they paid attention when he had the puck and even when he didn't. When the Kings were going through their injury spell he was the only player on the Kings that could be reliably expected to produce. It's too bad this injury is too much, because it seems the new NHL is made for him.

Palffy to Retire
"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

You can thank that piece of shit Keith Carney (worthless Mighty Schmuck of Anaslime) for that shoulder injury, he put the stick under Palffy's arm late in a game in 03-04 and yanked as hard as he could. The Penguins cited personal reasons for Palffy's retirement in a news release on Wednesday. A Slovak newspaper reported that Palffy made the decision because of a lingering shoulder injury.
Sad news to hear, one of my favorite Kings from the time he joined the team in 99 to the time he left before this season.
