Unfortunately. It has failed on two of my computers. 6 weeks ago, it stopped being able to access the internet one morning for no apparent reason ( IE still works fine, and there are no viruses or any other problems with it), and then the day before yesterday, again for no reason at all, I am no longer able to download anything with Firefox 1.5. Anytime I try to download anything, Firefox closes all open windows due to an unknown error.
I hate MS IE. anyone else using a browser that doesn't shit the bed like FF did? I tried doing searches on the mozilla bug site, and there are a lot of similar complaints but no outright fixes for the problem.
I have to stop using firefox

I had numerous problems when I updated to Firefox 1.5. My user profile somehow got corrupted. Select Start > Run... from the Windows Start menu and enter "firefox.exe -profilemanager" and press OK.
Then delete all the user profiles and exit.
More detailed information is listed here:
http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile#new
Note: If your profile is corrupted like mine was I'd be wary of backing it up.
I then went to ADD/Delete program in the Windows control panel and removed the Mozilla Firefox program and then deleted the Mozilla folder the Firefox extraction program made on load up.
That should remove all Firefox files.
Finally I reloaded Firefox 1.5 and all is back to normal. Just make sure you make a list of all the important bookmarks so you can reset them on the new load.
I'm not sure that is your problem Bushice, but I have a feeling if Firefox worked before, it will again.
Good luck.......

You'd think they'd beta test the F out of it before final release.
I think that I also have a corrupted file, as the microsoft "close program warning send info to microsoft" pop up references one.
I am virus free though, so it isn't a resident bug.

Solved one problem.
I went here:
http://forums.mozillazine.org
They had a solution, which was to delete this downloads.rdf file in my profile. Now I can download using FF again.
One down, one to go.
