PET - Vegas/Sphere

Post by The Whistle Is Screaming »

Vegas, the intersection of crazy and wild at the crossroad of overindulgence & too much money.

Haven't been to this burg since '98 and Holy cow has it changed.

Anyway, here is my story.....

We take you now, to a garage in Canoga Park to the Philly airport where we kicked things off with cocktails at the Sapphire Lounge.
Image

Flew in at night, out of nothing, the madness of Vegas sticks out.

Image

We stayed at the Marriott Grand Chateau, just off the strip, we had a nice view of the F1complex.

Image

Walked the strip and ended up at the Hash House a go go for breakfast, drinks 1st

Image

and 1 giant pancake (Irish Coffee not in the pic)

Image

Walked back to the hotel for some pool time.

Started on the rooftop pool, the Goodyear Hindenburg is in the background.

Image

Moved to the 5th floor pool, better sights...

Image

There were other daytime activities, but no pics. Ended up getting dinner at the Venetion before the show.

Image

Will post show/sphere pics later.....

Rack.

TWIS. You should try and make a trip to Death Valley. Perfect time of the year before it gets to be 4,000 degrees. It's about an hour and a half drive from Vegas. Real cool stuff to see.

Vegas still on my bucket list, hit the Pinball HOF with a bag of quarters. Would be my 3rd time in Vegas. Once to marry off my youngest daughter. Fun time. Stayed at the Frontier when it was still there.

Don't mention the resemblance between a dude on the game and Liberace. Certain Rush fans will melt down over it. Allegedly.

It's an entertainment venue in the shape of a ......sphere. yes, you go inside and the entire interior and exterior are made if video panels. Just Google it for some cool pics.

Clearly an issue for people who live in a FOS, the rest of us can manage to survive in adult Disney without falling ass first into some dongs.

Unfortunately, pics don't really do it justice, you just have to make the trek and see a show.

Everything you see is video....

RACK TWIS x2

Don’t worry about kcdork-he thinks that $20 is enough to fund a night of Las Vegas gambling and that the height of culinary pleasure is a hamburger that he can’t afford.

I have no use for or interest in Vegas, but I have to admit that this is a very interesting venue. I'm probably too old to be dropping acid in a public space, though.

This. I lived there for six years in the 90s. Had some good times going to shows and stuff, but not really a good place to raise young kids. Three of those years were spent trying to get back here. Since I left in 1999 I haven't been back, except once for a change of planes in the airport.

Vegas now has the Raiders and, in a couple of years, the A's. I'm not sure Oakland has anything left to share. Maybe the Black Panthers are next.

A baseball buddy was out there last week or the week before. Big Dead guy. He LOVED the sphere and the music.

Great PET, TWIS.
