The Inevitable, Just Sooner...
You probably won't, but for those of you on this board with "the sky is falling" mentality, this may put things in perspective.

Good read.
Re: The Inevitable, Just Sooner...
Surely you can admit that at this point, things appears closer to "a 1929-style economic depression" instead of "the best jobs, the biggest paychecks, and the brightest economic future the world has ever seen."

Great find. I clicked on the link but I’m not sure which post you’re referring to.
Is it this one?

This one?

Or maybe these?

There is one perspective.
Perspective: MAGA sycophants are certifiable.

So I finally got the link to work. Summary:
“Wall Street is taking a big hit. Business as usual, at least outwardly, on “Main Street”. So what’s the problem?”
What this dumbfuck MAGAt sycophant doesn’t seem to take into account, just like our resident dumbfuck sycophants, is that this is a completely misleading comparison. Wall Street is forward looking while his Main Street observations are completely about today. The tariffs haven’t even hit yet, or are just beginning to. Wall Street accurately sees what’s coming even though dumbfuck MAGAts continue to wear their gullibility blinders.

The fact that you included a post by Robert "Hood Ornament" Reich tells me all I need to know.
And the first douchebag whining about his small business probably didn't bitch when CA was shutting down, and keeping closed, thousands of small businesses.

Wall St is about expectations and uncertainty.
We are in the moment now of a seismic shift in policy that had to happen.
This is just market volatility based on uncertainty.
What is certainty is that once things are negotiated, stability will be back, and the market will react appropriately.
Don't it expect it to go back up to 45k, as that was illusory anyway.
The market is still up 80% of the past 5 years, and on par with what it looked like only a year ago.
There are several trend charts that show stock price trends over the past 50 years.
Have at it...

In one sense he's correct.
When you buy something the receipt will tell you how much you paid in sales tax. The receipt won't tell you how much you paid in tariff costs.

You MUST pay taxes. You DO NOT have to buy shit from CHY-nuh. Not the same. Not even close.

You’re not very good at making shit up, are you?
Re: The Inevitable, Just Sooner...
What, exactly, did I "make up"? You are required to pay taxes and you are not required to buy shit from China.

Which part of the "or duty" portion did you fail to comprehend?

Re: The Inevitable, Just Sooner...
It certainly is a tax on whoever is importing the goods and most, if not all, will be passed on to the consumer. Just because it doesn’t show up on the retail receipt doesn’t mean it’s not a tax.Diego in Seattle wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 12:09 amIn one sense he's correct.

Which part of the “tax” portion did you fail to comprehend? Your semantic argument is just a stupid deflection. The result is the same whichever word you choose to describe it. Now go to bed, say your prayers to Dear Leader and jack off to some fat male butts.

Whether you go to Home Depot, Lowes, Ace, Menards, or Dirty Al's Hardware Shack, you pay sales tax.
Not so with tariffs. They are country-specific.
The tax is paid when the product enters the country. It's still a tax.

I'll take that as a capitulation. Because I never claimed that tariffs are SALES taxes.
Pretty much of a cheap (and dumb) move by you though, going back and deleting the post where you said that tariffs aren't taxes. Unfortunately for you, you can't delete my response where I quoted you:
And, no, I didn't edit that. Pussy,
