Only two teams currently worse than the Jazz.... Hornets and Wizards. How do we spell Loser?
I try to follow the home town team but they suck so bad my browser is starting to block any reference to them. Fukking Outstanding showing, after 28 turnovers to Detroit they are at a whopping .246 pct. Hell Jobs sucked dirty ditch water and ended up at .396 in 3BB.
The good news is almost all the other teams have a sparring partner and an easy way to pad their per cent wins up.
Is there anything more pathetic than Mr "We" sports fan?
Many do it. I cringe every time I hear it.
If you are not on the roster, your pronoun is they, dipshit.
I'm not even comfortable with people part of a sport's official payroll doing it. You the team's home game jizzmopper? You'd best be calling them they also. I'd give a pass to coaches....barely.

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz injury report features several key names as the team travels to face the Washington Wizards on Wednesday.
The Jazz have ruled out four starters against the Wizards, plus one key reserve.
The Jazz will be without starters Lauri Markkanen (back), John Collins (back), Walker Kessler (rest), and Collin Sexton (ankle), while sixth-man Jordan Clarkson will miss the game due to ongoing plantar fasciitis.

Well said smackaholic. Pathetic is the proper term.
Of course the team marketers bank on it. Did MH say "tool"?

You don’t want a coach or GM saying they. You want the coach and GM saying we.
You also shouldn’t have anyone on the operations side saying they. The ATC, equipment guys, team services, travel secretaries etc are all part of the we. The players consider them part of the we so why don’t you?

these of the "12" persuasion made that stadium inhospitable for opposing offenses especially during legion of boom years, do they get the honor of using "we"? players didn't seem to raise hackles I heard about. Marketing gimmick? Sure, but it was a real phenomenon.

Lmao. Now local media is rooting for the Jazz to lose. A desperate last place gets first pick strategy.
The fans keep buying it.
I got to see Stockton and Malone play in 1995. That was right around the time Cinder threw a drink in Stock's face. Fun game. I played a lot of basketball at the time and loved the team chemistry on that Jazz squad.
I watched some NBA at Top Golf last weekend and I hardly recognize the sport. College is still pretty good. Watched some of that at the BnB.

Never heard that story before. Did she get tossed out or any repercussions? I was doing free lance engineering work for the TV production crews back then, good times! I have a couple of the Jazz sideline folding chairs from the period. Somehow I found them in my truck after a game . . .
Hardy is not giving up on the race for last place. Game with Memphis: "Even in a tanking season, it was a shockingly bad performance.
"The Jazz lost the third quarter 44-17 — it's worst point-differential quarter of the season — to see a halftime lead quickly turn into a blowout. Utah was 5-of-17 from the field in the quarter and was outrebounded 18-3."
When asked for specifics about what he didn't like, Hardy was blunt, even likening the intensity of the second half to a random pick-up game at a local gym.
Maybe next year he can find a job as an assistant coach at that pick up game.

Reminds me of when Scott Ostler wrote a column for the L. A. Times called "The Bottom 10." He ranked all the worst teams in the NFL/NCAA. It was
I had forgotten about that - good stuff. I guess he’s been with the SF Cronicle since 1991.
The LA Times used to have a great sports section. Now it’s usually two or three pages attached to the back of the California section and just stories about LA Teams and maybe a blatantly homer puff piece by Bill Plaschke a couple times a week. Seems like even home team results aren’t reported the following morning for anything ending after about 7:00 pm. I remember when you used to be able to open the morning paper and get box scores and at least a short summary for every game played the previous day/night. I guess you just go to espn.com for results now. I don’t even bother opening it anymore.

That's bizarre. What time do they go to press? Or even grab off the wires? The smallest of markets can manage that, strange for the LA Times.

I’ve been wondering about that because all they really have to do is get it off the wires and set it up. I’m thinking maybe they only work one shift to save money. After all the owner, Patrick Soon-Shiong, didn’t amass an $11 billion fortune by being profligate. Or maybe he sends it out to South Africa for printing.

This is especially funny in light of the efforts MLB has made to speed up the game...

It is unusual, mind the service seperates by subject and sport is an extra fee, I suppose they deem it unneccesary as they'd know their own demographics.
"Jazz lose by 36 to Nuggets. Coach Hardy praised the team's effort."
Classic sports double talk from Will:
"I thought we generated a bunch of good looks and they didn't go," he said. "I'm not hiding from the fact that we just got our butts kicked, but it's not because the team didn't compete and play hard. I think when you don't make any shots and you have an unset defense for the whole game, it's hard against a team like that."

Go team.
I got curious about these "good looks that just didn't fall" so I looked up the stat line.
Jazz took more shots than the Nugs. 93 attempts to 83. 40 of them were three pointers. Nearly half your shots are from 24' or more? Are those the "good looks" lol?
Might help to block a shot occasionally too. Jazz had zero blocks while the Nugs denied 13.
