Oh my God and G0d. Richard had a epic legacy of hilarious references on the Jim Rome Show.
"Stop sending me 'what you call crank in the face, I call Saturday night. ~Richard Simmons' emails."

I have a friend who had gastric bypass surgery in NOLA a few years ago. RS was from NOLA, and last night my friend and I were texting about him. Here's what he said:
Sad to hear.
He sat down with me after my gastric bypass. He asked everyone to leave just the 2 of us. We had such a great conversation. He spoke about his mother's love and how important family would be while losing weight but to do it for myself first. Incredibly sweet man.
Yes. He was a new orleans native. The hospital I had my surgery at was on st Charles Ave. He was in town and had a connection to the bariatrics' dept of the hospital. I was blessed to have a follow up that day when he showed up. He didn't want publicity ..he just wanted a to help any way he could with great advice and wonderful stories. He truly was a good soul

Falls take out a lot of old people. Various guts rupture and the timer starts. Pick up the feet and slow down.
