All of those hacks & kooks that have been lobbying for TSC to be freed for the women or little league teams can bite it. The fight is over.
The Stanley Cup will be spending the summer with the oldest living cup winners. It's a great PR move, classy. Some of the guys haven't seen the cup since the day they won it.
Ted Lindsay will get the cup for a day. Enjoy your 80th birthday, Terrible Ted.

Too bad Red Horner didn't get another chance with the Cup, he died recently as the oldest living NHL'er at 95, was the PIM leader for 8 seasons in the 20s and 30s (back when a fight would get you a minor) and is in the HOF.

I can't oppose that idea. Honor the guys who have fought tooth and nail in the past to win it...back when it wasn't about the money and it was all about guts and glory. Some guys today still have that today. I have a hard time believing any of them do when they're willing to sit out an entire season to keep earning their millions rather than do what's best for the game and the fans.

Say what you want about the labour dispute and about the Jagrs and other primadonnas of the NHL, but you can't deny that the teams that do win the Cup today still show a lot of guts. For the guys for whom it's all about the money, they aren't the ones you see sipping out of the Cup at the end of the year.

Somebody ought to use the cup to bludgeon Bettman and Goodenow.
