They should ban anchoring the putter NOW. Those long putters are an abomination. Screw the guys who can't putt like normal people.

"the integrity of the sport is at risk with the continued use of these putters" said Mike Davis head of the USGA as he teed up his elastomer covered Titleist Pro V and bashed it with his adjustable Titleist 910D with Diamona shaft....
yes long putters are definitely a threat to the integrity of the sport

The difference being, that when you bomb it 390 yards with your new Taylor Made R143,000, you don't look like a fag doing it (unless your name is Rory).

if everybody plays by the same rules, I don't get what the big deal is.....if any of those "purists" want to anchor a putter they can do it.....
I've just never seen the harm is in these types of putters....I've experimented around with them and I didn't find them advantageous in any sense of the word.....
you want to get back to the integrity of the game, outlaw balls that fly 400 yards....outlaw any ball that has more than 300 dimples on it....out law titanium drivers, outlaw cavity back irons, outlaw investment cast irons, outlaw 54, 56, 58, 60, and 62 degree wedges that have turned sand traps from hazards into the prefered bailout areas.....there are a myriad of things they should do if they want to return the game to its purity, but outlawing long handles putters should be at the bottom of the list....

well it seems Tim Finchem has come to his senses
http://www.supersport.com/golf/golf-glo ... ng_putters
Speaking during the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship final at Dove Mountain, Finchem cited the lack of data detailing specific advantages in anchoring and the 40-year history of long putters as the main reasons not to back the proposal.
"Essentially where the PGA Tour came down was that they did not think that banning anchoring was in the best interest of golf or the PGA Tour," Finchem told reporters.
"The thinking of the players and our board of directors ... was that in the absence of data or any basis to conclude that there is a competitive advantage to be gained by using anchoring, and given the amount of time that anchoring has been in the game, there was no overriding reason to go down that road.
so the R&A and USGA have no evidence that a long putter provides any advantage whatsoever, but they want to go ahead and ban them anyway? if that isn't fucking stupidity personified, I don't know what is.....if they'd like proof that a Pro-V1 provides a distinct advantage over the gutta percha ball, I can give them all the evidence they need.....

As long as he doesn't anchor the drumstick against any part of his torso.
BTW -- they didn't technically ban long putters -- they're still perfectly legal. You just can't anchor it (or any other club) against your body.
So they didn't actually ban homosexuality, just gay marriage between club-and-chest. Instead, they opted to allow "non-sanctioned unions."

I'm siding with Sergio in this debacle. It sounds like all he was doing was throwing out some good natured smack and Tyquan has to make like he has to go flaring his nostrils and curling his lips.
I wonder if he consulted with his driveway caddy in the oval office first for advice on how best to handle this situation.
