Billy the Kid gets the right of first refusal per everything I've heard. The UK faithful want to make a run at Pitino to "come home". After that the fan dream guy is Calipari. Travis Ford will get a long look if the "name" guys don't pan out.

Will Calipari be allowed to bring his FedEx checkbook with him as well?

Just heard that Donovan said "no" again.

On Donovan:
The Fox television affiliate in Orlando, citing a source close to the Kentucky basketball program, reported that Donovan will resign from Florida to take the Kentucky job.
And if it came from within the UK program then it is gosepl fact and truth.

The UK fans are dreaming of Calipari coming to town and bringing stud recruits Cousins and Wall with him. Cousins hasn't signed with Memphis he's only verballed and Wall hasn't even verballed yet, but all the speculation is Memphis will be the choice.

So long as Cal has World Wide Wes in his corner the talent will find its way to wherever he's coaching.

RACK BtH for the reset.

I'm sure Wright would rather live in an utter dump like Lexington or like Izzo would want to live in Tuscaloosa or any halfway decent coach worth a salt would rather live in Bloomington instead of a halfway cosmopolitan city. Tides are turning against these small shit cities and Bloomington is a the top of the list with Lexington close behind.

How does East Lansing end up in this discussion? Last time I checked Michigan State didn't have an opening nor will have one anytime soon. I also can't remember the last time MSU finished dead fucking last in the Big 11, like IU did this year. Same with UKKK. Setting new lows every year.

Nobody wants to live in Norman either, fuckwit.

Have you been to Norman in the last decade? It's in a major metropolitan area not semi-cosmopolitan township. There's plenty to do with OU athletics, the OKC Thunder less than 45 minutes, OKC Redhawks, the Blazers (hockey), regularly hosts NCAA tourney games for both baseball and basketball, Bricktown, Campus Corner, two major theme parks within a 30 minute drive. It's an affluent community where the unemployment is less than 5% (try finding that anywhere in Michigan right now), real estate is stable. I could go on but I digress. I would tend to think that Norman would be a rather attractive destination for college coaches in any athletic endeavor. Welcome to the new century.

See, this is what you backwater shit-eating tards like IndyFelcho will never understand. Jay Wright isn't a $30k earning douch like you dudes. So why the fuck would he, while he's making more than seven figures, want to move from metro Philly (where he's a native) to a fucking incest-feeding trail of tears ending dead-end like Norman because "it's the #6 best place to live according to Money magazine?"

News flash, losers, nobody lives in Choklahoma for a reason. There's thousands of better places to live than Oklahoma and Norman and Madison surely doesn't top the first places anyone with half a brain want to live.

Go fist yourselves.

You make 30k? I doubt it. And if you do, it's stealing.

That's funny in a way. My eldest sister, who once lived in Madison, now lives in Tulsa.

But go ahead and list some of these better places to live, as if you would have a fucking clue about the quality of life anywhere outside of the 440 sq.ft. apartment you rent.

Dude who props the shithole of East lansing is trying to clown Norman/OKC? I've officially seen it all now.

1.56 million residents (OKC) > 46,254 residents (Lansing)

4.8% Unemployment (OKC) > 10.9% Unemployment (Lansing)

$68,802 median household income (OKC) >>> $31,283 median household income (Lansing)

Keep tarding up every forum you set foot in, Screwball. Madison is consistently rated one of the top places to live, year after year. And you live in... DC? Oh wait, it seems that you're claiming to have half a brain. Nevermind.

I am just saying that if I am Kentucky I make a run at him. I'm not saying he'll leave Villanova because he's going to cash in handsomely from this Final Four run.

Maybe not, but Izzo and his family love it there.

I don't think the big city lifestyle would be a draw for Izzo, anyway. He grew up in the U.P. for chrissakes. That's about as backwoods and remote as it gets.

Yep, and I was agreeing with you on that point though maybe it didn't come off that way. Screw is making broad generalizations that all coaches prefer the cosmopolitan life. That's just not the case. A lot, in fact probably most of these guys grew up in smaller settings, have that "blue collar" mindset, etc.

Not to mention that Villanova is his dream job (I think) and he's married to a Villanova grad. Never say never, but it'd take a heckuva lot to pry him away from there.

I'd love to see him come to ND, but not gonna happen, in all likelihood.

Sudden Sam wrote:Lexington a dump? I think not. One of the nicest cities I've ever been in.
Never been to Lexington, so I wouldn't know one way or the other. I'll have to take your word for it.
I would think virtually any coach would jump at the chance to coach and live there.
Awhile back (may have even been a different board), there was quite an extensive discussion on the CFB forum about what constitutes a "destination" job. In basketball, I think any reasonable, objective perspective would include the Kentucky job in that category.

Having said that, there are always subjective criteria which you have to take into consideration with any particular coach. While most coaches probably wouldn't consider the Villanova job a more desirable job than the Kentucky job, I think Wright is probably the exception to the rule in that regard.

On that limited point, I have to agree with Screwgie. Then again, I also thought that Pitino -- the quintessential Italian urban northeasterner -- would be a horrible fit at Kentucky, so what do I know?
