Jose alleges Palmeiro coverup, likens MLB to 'mafia'

He may have an "automobile accident" soon or may have a "sudden heart attack"...etc...

Anyways....

I do partially believe Jose. IMO..

1) The Steroid and drug issue is bigger than what we are being led to believe.

2) MLB was aware of the problem and in many ways encouraged it.

3) Many Major League teams supplied or indirectly supplied Steroids and growth substances to their players.

4) MLB wants to cover this up and pretend that it was only a few "bad eggs".

5) Jose is/ was and always will be blackballed from Major League Baseball.
- anyone that rats out his friends, jeopardizes paychecks and exposes criminals to potential jail sentences will always be blackballed from any activity (MLB or whatever..)

and I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Canseco had a little accident..

Canseco in all honesty has nothing to lose. He's not a HOFer hes not going to be welcomed back to baseball ever. He might as well spill what he knows. Though the bribing Palmeiro then double crossing him theory sounds silly Its not totally impossible. I could se Fehr and Selig conspiring on some sort of cover up.

I tend to agree.

2) MLB was aware of the problem and in many ways encouraged it.

I don't know if they encouraged it, but I don't think they did near enough to discourage it.
So, end result is the same.

3) Many Major League teams supplied or indirectly supplied Steroids and growth substances to their players.

Depends on what your definition of 'many' is.
Myself, I would go with 'some'.

4) MLB wants to cover this up and pretend that it was only a few "bad eggs".

Of course, I agree.

5) Jose is/ was and always will be blackballed from Major League Baseball.

He is, yes.
'Always' might be a long time, and times CAN change.

He may be a little crazy but he was right about a lot of stuff...baseball has to be leading the way in covering up a lot of this. If they open with what's been going on, I think they'd lose a lot of us. They flat out need to tell us everything and come clean or the suspicions will never stop. Open the vault and air out the dirty laundry and hopefully keep things as clean as possible from this point forward. I've said it before, if it wasn't for the Tigers playing so well...I probably would've just told the sport to go to hell. If I come to find out that any of the current Tigers are crooked, I'll burn every thing relating to the Tigers I own and I'll never watch a baseball game again.

25 fellas on the Tigers active roster.

I'm guessing somebody is playing under the influence.

Maybe a few somebodys.

Am I cynical, realistic, or a dumbshit ... ?

First 40-40 player ever. On roids yes, but 40+ SB is a pretty nice feat for a power hitter.

Hell poppy...most of these guys are MudHens!

farm fresh....brought up "right"!

it was a treat to watch these guys play in Toledo. they WON the big AAA Cup ...i guess!--->err..they did!

not a Tigers FAN at all....glad to see the "kids" do good.

as to the steroid problem...i have no answer...as it will always be there--->guys always trying to BEAT the system.

the HORSE has been out of the Barn for so Long now....you'd have to see a Union "Breaking" to get this whole thing cleaned up.

will that happen?

Sammy Sosa says he'll be back next year too.....

Strictly on numbers, you could make a pretty strong case that he should be. That having been said, the current steroid controversy combined with him admitting to his steroid use and the fact that MLB considers him persona non grata would tend to militate toward that conclusion.

Rack Frisco for beating me to the punch as well.
