How the fuck is Iowa still not ranked?

in the coaches poll? But Colorado and Indiana are? Give me a break. Nevermind the fact that we have one of the most impressive NCAA tournament resumes in the country and just beat 2 ranked teams last week. Oh, and not to mention, we're tied for 1st place in the best conference in the nation. What a fucking joke. Colorado is fucking horrible. We'd beat them by 70 points. Maybe more! Their best win is over a really bad Oklahoma State. Whoopee!!! And Indiana is still ranked even though we just toyed with them and so did a lousy Minnesota team??
How this team isn't ranked in the Top 15 is beyond me, let alone the Top 25. Voters can suck my hairy nuts.

I'd recommend you shave your balls. When you host recruits they would like your balls to feel as smooth as eggs.

Other than Texas, not exactly quality losses.
Yeah, you have some nice wins, but there are only 2 - 5 loss teams in the top 25, MSU and Indiana, and I don't think Iowa is in that class yet.

You don't watch any college basketball, other than Iowa, do you? Colorado is
farrrrrrrrrrrrr from horrible this season. They're 17-3 and beating teams by a double digit average.

i agree that Iowa prolly ought to be rank, but the polls are meaningless in hoops anyway.
jon said a few months ago that the state of Iowa would have 3 teams in the sweet 16. Northern Iowa is decent, Iowa is Dirk Diggling, ISU is hanging aroung being average. of course, they DID beat Iowa by double digits--a team from the best conference in America, no less.
i just wanted to bring that back into play. 3 teams in the Sweet 16.

See thread "Iowa = most bi-polar team in Big Ten"
Granted they play 2 halves of basketball for a reason, but truly, Iowa didn't deserve to return to the floor after the first half!
If Horner hadn't been able to miss a shot (blindfolded, with both arms cut off and being held down by the rest of Purdue), and Henderson just showing up with the ball in his hands, the game would have been about as bad as the one at MSU.
Don't get me wrong, I still think they are a great team, but until they can produce (regularly) on the road, like they do one the road, they are going to be a one and out in the Tourney.

Hey boys, new to the board but big college b-ball and Notre Dame fan. I think a better question than why isn't Iowa ranked is why Mike Brey still has a job. Thoughts? But while were on the subject probably because Stevie boy is about as good a coach as Mike Davis.
Good Talent / Subpar coaching

Iowa is in the Big 10.
Sin,
7 teams in the RPI top 19

Screw the Top 25....Iowa is a Top 10 team and there is not debate on that. 18-5 (7-2 in the best conference in the country) with wins over Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio State, Indiana, and Illinois.
Whoever said we have bad losses is a moron. Our worst loss is against Iowa State (#57 in RPI).

Yeah, that looks really great until you put where each one of those wins was...(Here's a hint...they were in Iowa!)
I didn't get a chance to see the game today and I will admit, it was a surprise to check the score when I got back, however, until Iowa can produce ON THE ROAD, they are still going to be a 2 faced team. (Remember East Lansing?)
Case in point, the Purdue game earlier in the week.
Don't get me wrong, they are still going to be hard to beat come tourney time, but again, unless they can string together 2-3 away games, I'm still going to be skeptical.
This next week at N'western (ok not a heavy hitter) and then at Indiana will be a good gauge to see how "Top 10" this team is.

Kentucky was not at home. Neutral court.

Also, one thing on the Purdue game, it was expected. Let's be honest, no one takes them seriously and we were coming off an emotional week. I fully expect this team to struggle against Northwestern. Not because it's on the road but because it's hard to bring the same intensity towards a team like that as we did Michigan and we're coming off another big win. We'll beat Northwestern, but I expect a bit of a struggle.
It's true we haven't gotten a quality road win but part of that is due to injury. We had the UNI game won before Horner went down late in the game. Had he not gone down, we clearly had that game won. And Iowa State game we were without Horner. Either way, I challenge anyone to name me more than 3-4 teams in the country with better overall NCAA tournament resumes than Iowa. No way you can do it and actually justify yourself.

They ought to be ranked now.

Well, I was freaking amazed when I saw the score...holy shit you put a hurting on those guys.
But I wouldn't get too high on yourself. Yes you should be ranked in the T25 but I don't think you (or anyone from the Big10) has proven themself a secure top10 spot. Illinois is doing the best and they may be the one exception but I don't really see anyone else deserving. A lot of teams have been good but not superior.

Its funny you mention that b/c ESPN just did this whole algorithm on which conference is the best when it comes to the tourney. They didn't really specify teams, but they did illustrate how the Big Ten is VERY consistent with repsect to their seedings.
It actually hurt my brain to try and figure out what kind of 9th dimensional math they did to figure it out, but it was a good read.

Oh, yeah...Top 10! Absolutely! I'm sure losing at Northwestern for the 3rd year in a row justifies that.
At the rate Iowa is going on the road, they will fall into the same trap as Kansas last year.
No, wait, scratch that, they won't get that high of a ranking.
No, I'm not pissed, why do you ask?
