The St. Louis Blues traded second-leading scorer Mike Sillinger to the Nashville Predators on Sunday night for forward Timofei Shishkanov.

Christ, with jackoff not selling the team, Larry Pleau is going to get nothing for sillinger, weight, and tkachuk. And others in a dump.

Please make this go away!

Chicago Blackhawks general manager Dale Tallon and director of player personnel Rick Dudley were in attendance at MCI Center on Sunday

Hmm Sounds like something is brewing

The Blues should've gotten a little more for Sillinger but he's just a checking center having a career year statistically. Did I read right that he's going to his 11th or 12th different team? Holy Michel Petit, Batman!

Doug Weight Gone!!!!!!

To carolina

The Carolina Hurricanes have acquired Doug Weight and 27-year-old Finnish forward Erkki Rajamaki from the St. Louis Blues.

In exchange, Carolina gave to the Blues three draft picks and three players. The package includes:
- Carolina's first-round pick in 2006.
- Toronto's fourth-round pick in 2006, previously acquired by the Hurricanes.
- Chicago's fourth-round pick in 2007, previously acquired by the Hurricanes.
- Tough guy forward Jesse Boulerice, a 27-year-old eighth-year pro
- Forward Mike Zigomanis, a 25-year-old fifth-year pro
- Magnus Kahnberg, 25, an unsigned Carolina draftee from Sweden who will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1

Nice move by the 'Canes...sounded like Ottawa was going to land Weight.

heard aboot Weight on the radio during lunch.
Do the Blues have anyone left to cast off? Leftover Walt? Some stick tape for Mayers? Are they trying to rebuild the farm system after the Stevens tampering?

weight is a free agent to be

to get a 1st round pick for him is great.

Also, the Blues have been sold to Checketts.

Checketts the restaurant chain? This mean the Jamal Mayers meet and greet at Hardee's is not gonna happen? Is this why they got rid of the 5 goal taco deal?

I picked the wrong day to unplug my radio.

Nice trade Stl, the Whalercanes pick won't be any higher than 20th.

Suckinger is having a career year, but he will fall in the toliet when he joins the Preds. There is a reason he has been on 11 teams, he doesn't bust his ass every night.

Interesting trade by the 'Canes. Kahnberg wasn't going to be signed by the 'Canes, so he's no big loss. The loss of Zigomanis will hurt the 'Canes on the depth chart, but since center is where the 'Canes are deepest the hurt isn't too bad. Yet. Rajamakki? He was to the Blues what Kahnberg was to the 'Canes, so that's a wash there.

Boulerice, though....He had to go. Poor Jesse was really hurt by not playing during the lockout--a fan favorite and a great guy who really fell in love with Raleigh, sure, but it's been extremely painful to watch that poor man try to skate every night. When the 'Canes got Stephen Peat from the Crapitals, I knew that Bolo's days were numbered. Not that Peat is the Great White Hype or anything, but in the grand scheme of things he's better than that poor bastard Boulerice.

The draft picks were to sweeten the pot (and probably to ensure that Weight wouldn't go to Philly or Ottawa), and come as no great surprise to me--this season's draft is going to be pretty wimpy once you get out of the top 10, and Rutherford has a tendency to trade out of wimpy drafts.

Can't wait to tune in to Center Ice tomorrow for my French lesson and to see Dougie in the Sightless Eye for the first time.

Comparing me to Fraudo? Talk about a reach.

At least my team has a chance of making the playoffs, yours is going to be lucky not to get 50 losses.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Crying UNCLE, yet again!

hey dumbass, your team has as much of a shot to win the cup as the Blues do, and they won't make the playoffs!

a 1st rounder+4th rounder+another pick + boddies for AHL team, for a rental player= BODE

Thanks to the Blues for setting a nice precedent for teams following up that may have a sell-off of soon-to-be UFAs. You know, teams that may lose their 9th straight tonight..

Weight's a good player but for a rent a player, the Canes gave up too much.

So much for the Blues long ass playoff streak.
maybe now they'll bring back the organ.

If they want to go the nostalgia route, they can rename the Savvis centre to the Checkettdome

I wouldn't mind get Drake back in Detroit. On opening night at the Joe, I thought he was the best player for the Blues. The Wings could use a little more grit...they've got enough scoring and finesse and when Kronwall returns from injury, that'll be like trading for a top 4 defenseman. The Wings don't a lot of cap room but I'd be on board with them adding another forward with some toughness and that can score "playoff-style goals" as Babcock said in a recent quote to the media.

dallas drake would be a huge pick up for the wings. dude is gritty and clutch, nuff said. drake was always on my teams when i had nhl 00-01-02.

Credit the Blues for giving the Wings two tough periods last night...the wheels came off in the third. RACK Niklas Kronwall...2 assists and 15 minutes of action in his first game of the season.

Not a Blues trade but...Boucher and Leclerc to Calgary for Sauve and Reinprecht...

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=153298&hubname=

Gretz is a busy guy with shuffling this roster...the Coyotes have probably most the trades this season. I don't even recognize their roster on some nights. Early in the season, I can remember seeing the boxscore and asking to myself, when did they get Geoff Sanderson? :?

Certainly hasn't helped the Yotes in the standings, they are still in a cripple fight with San Jose for the Pacific cellar.

Where will:

Dallas Drake
Keith Tkachuk
Dean Mcammond
Bryce Salvador
Eric Weinrich

end up? please deal them soon, we want the #1-#3 picks, don't put on a bullshit run of wins and fall out of top5.

They aren't out of the race for the last playoff spot...just 7 points back.

What happened to the Kings? They're only one point out of 8th place in the West.

Nothing. They're just being the Kings.

Did you actually expect them to sustain their play?

The Kings annual injury bug hit and the team went into a slump. Can't win games when you are dressing half the Manchester Monarchs roster. We had Sean Avery on the top line, that is how bad it got. Defense has gone into the tank as well, they are in desprate need to add another physical dman on the blueline. (scrubs like Nathan Dempsey and Mike Weaver don't cut it)

Getting to the Olympic Break without any other injuries has to be the Kings goal. For the first time in about 6 weeks, the Kings are dressing their regular lineup. (save for Val Bure, who is out for the season and never dressed in a regular season game for them)
