SCOTUS will sort out the birthright citizenship thing. I hope they arrive at what we all know should be the right decision. That being that anyone born here to legal residents enjoys this privilege.

North Dakota GOP Senator Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison for Traveling to Prague for Sex with Minors: Report

Former North Dakota state Senator Ray Holmberg was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on Wednesday after pleading guilty to traveling with the intent to engage in illegal sexual conduct.

Holmberg, 81, served as a Republican state senator for 45 years. His sentence, which exceeds the length recommended by federal guidelines, was handed down by U.S. District Judge Daniel Hovland.

Judge Hovland described Holmberg’s actions as “egregious and despicable,” adding that a guideline sentence of more than three years was insufficient.

“From my perspective, this was not an isolated case and this is not a victimless crime,” Hovland said, according to the North Dakota Monitor. “It displays a pattern of very vile, sickening criminal behavior.”

In addition to his prison sentence, Holmberg will be required to register as a sex offender.

Pastor charged in Bradford County child predator sting


Brad Swink, 40, of Rome, has been charged with six felonies relating to child sex crimes.

Rome, Pa. — A reverend from a church in North Rome is facing child pornography charges after a predator sting was conducted in Bradford County.

The 40-year-old man, who was arrested at the church on Thursday, allegedly admitted he has been viewing and masturbating to child pornography for years.

Police confront pastor in church

Swink has been a pastor at North Rome Wesleyan Church since 2018. He preached as recently as April 6, which was just four days before police confronted him at the church.

Swink's personal Youtube channel features 187 uploaded videos, many of which depict young churchgoers playing and worshiping.

In January 2023, NCMEC submitted a tip from Snapchat for suspected child pornography being shared on the social media site. The case surrounding the tip was assigned to Trooper Gabriel Paduck.

The minute-long video that Snapchat flagged to authorities depicted an adult man raping a child, according to Paduck.

NCMEC traced the IP address of the device used to upload the video to be linked to an email address beginning with “littlebillyboy8419.” Police then linked the email address to Swink’s residence.

On April 10, Paduck obtained a search warrant for Swink’s home, as well as his place of work. Paduck found the pastor at the church and interviewed him there.

Swink allegedly admitted to watching and masturbating to CSAM since 2022. He reportedly told police that CSAM could be found on a cell phone and computer in his home.

Swink also said he created Snapchat accounts using fake names to remain anonymous, Paduck reported.

On the phone, Paduck allegedly found videos of Swink masturbating to a naked child who was also performing sex acts. Swink produced the video by screenrecording it, Paduck said.

Social media accounts show Swink previously worked as an assistant pastor in Bethlehem at CrossPoint Wesleyan Church.

A message left at North Rome Wesleyan Church was not returned, but by Friday, the church had taken down Swink's photo from its website.

Swink was charged with three counts of child pornography, two counts of videotaping child sex acts, and one count of criminal use of a communication facility. He is being held in the Bradford County Prison in lieu of $500,000 bail as he awaits his preliminary hearing scheduled for April 22.

Disgraced ex-NYC councilman caught with child sex abuse videos at Miami airport, feds say


MIAMI – A former member of the New York City Council — who left office in disgrace leading up to a federal bribery conviction — is now in the feds’ crosshairs again: this time in South Florida.

Agents said they caught Dan Halloran, 54, with as many as 1,000 videos of child sexual abuse material hidden on his iPhone as he was changing planes at Miami International Airport, headed back to New York on Saturday. He served on the council from 2010 to 2013 and made a failed run for Congress in 2012 as the Republican nominee in the state’s 6th district.

Authorities said they first found about 35 child sexual abuse videos in a hidden folder on his iPhone. Videos described in the complaint were those of “prepubescent” girls being victimized.

They said they also discovered that Halloran, who now lives in the Long Island suburb of Floral Park, New York, was purchasing the illicit content from the messaging app Telegram.

The complaint states that Halloran admitted to “knowingly” having child sexual abuse videos on his cellphone. Authorities said he told them that about “two-thirds to three-quarters” of the 1,362 videos in his hidden album depicted child sexual abuse.
