Roux,

Actor Wendell Pierce introduced U.S. Rep. Troy Carter, D-New Orleans, and state Democratic Party Chair Randal Gaines, who cast Louisiana's votes for Harris and Walz.

Obama is such a rock star.

That was a pretty fucking great political speech right there by Obama.

I legit forgot what it was like to have an eloquent President.

Been a long ass time.

But that message was phenomenal.

former President Clinton pointing out that VP Harris worked at McDonald's.

I like that narrative, tbh. Someone who worked there getting as far as Vice President (to this point).

Never was a fan of the denigration of those who held entry level jobs.

So Prez Clinton got a "don't stop thinkin' about tomorrow" send off, (remember that?) and a lot of applesauce, but he was low key and I was expecting more energy, at least as much as Rep Hakeem Jefferies gave.

Rep Pelosi on now!

As usualm, awkwardly dodging the question. :meds: :meds:

Try this one. What did he say, specifically, that you dispute? Are you saying that Trump didn’t order his minions to kill the bipartisan border security bill, just to make sure Biden couldn’t get any credit?

And please explain how Appeal to Authority even comes close here.

What border security did the bipartisan bill provide?

If it was such a great idea, is it being pimped by the Demonchine at its convention?

First of all, it didn’t provide anything. Your orange demigod ordered his obedient minions, including some who actually wrote the bill, to kill it.

Second, you apparently didn’t read much of it.

Also, while you're researching, go ahead and look up Section 1182F of the Immigration and Nationalization Act, apply it to Joe Biden, and promptly go fuck yourself.

Probably not but self-fellatio is a slippery (see what I did there?) slope so be careful.

Mmkay. Thanks for mediating this divorce. I'll put it in simplistic form, probably simplistic to a fault, but here we go.

HPG: This Sheriff is full of shit.

Mikey: You can't say that because you aren't a law enforcement officer or live on the border.

The implication being that only an expert (borders sheriffs, to wit) can comment on borders and sheriffs.

Ok, that's in the realm of possibility, except it is fair game for Mikey to ask essentially "what do you know and how do you know it?" on the topic; which took a specific form of phrasing that was directly to that point of reference.

At worst, he could be charged with a red herring.

You are a liar, the mirror image of your hero Dump.

It relies on a new authority that Ben Johnson, executive director of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, described in a statement as “a blunt instrument that puts vulnerable migrants at risk and denies some legitimate asylum seekers life-saving protections.” Essentially, it would shut down the border when too many migrants are trying to enter, with the threshold defined as more than 5,000 people a day on average over a week or 8,500 in one day. Those who are caught trying to cross anyway could be barred from seeking asylum.

There would be limits on this authority in the first year of its implementation, and the president could opt to keep the border open for 45 days at a time, no matter the number of arrivals, if they determine that it’s in the national interest. Immigration authorities would also still have to process at least 1,400 migrants per day at ports of entry even while the border is shut down.

But none of this is enough to make up for the flaws in the bill’s border security provisions.

“It does not offer any real solutions — it would only exacerbate the same ‘border crisis’ while causing even more human suffering,” Sirine Shebaya, executive director of the National Immigration Project, said in an emailed statement.

Pass the bill to find out what's in it....right?

I "demanded your credentials?"

My God you are a sensitive little twat, aren't you?

Have you had a chance since last night to untangle yourself from the logical pretzel you seem to have twisted yourself into?

Setting aside your bogus reference to "Appeal to Authority," let's look at what you originally posted.

HPG: He's 300 miles from the border and has the unmitigated gall to say this bullshit, lol.

First of all, Bexar County is about 110 miles from the Border. 150 miles if you drive to Laredo. But more to the point, his distance from the border is the only justification you give for disputing his statements. And then you got your panties twisted when I asked you how far you are from the border. Is that not a reasonable comparison?

Second, you never, in spite of my subsequent post, regaled us with what he said that you actually disagree with, or why. And you still haven't.

So, you can take your sidestepping of the question, which seems to be SOP for you and, in your own words, go fuck yourself.

Nope. Not a reasonable comparison.

If I need to provide border proximity credentials to comment on the border, you no longer get to comment on anything without direct experience or proximal exposure. Women, business ownership, the plight of the poor, homelessness, the politics of Washington DC (it's so faar awayyy), the price of energy, etc. Of course that's not a reasonable expectation. We comment all the time from positions of tangenital exposure.

Anywho, this board already sucks ass 90% of the time and we are making it worse. You're being tiresome and pedantic and so am I. I'll take the Loss if we can get back to more important things like Why is Fiatlux such a raging homosexual? Was he born with it or did he pick it up by exposure, like a local dialect?
