Mikey, it's windy, rainy and cold! We aren't prepared for this kind of thing. Clothing wise.

Yeah, well, we weren't prepared for last week. Snowplow wise.

Suck it up, buttercup.

I'm enjoying the storm. I love it. I just won't go outside in it. Unless I have to.

I'm about to go out into a snowflake storm, while it's 50 degrees.

Wish me luck.

If it gets really good, I'll PET that bitch. But I'm going to try and avoid the unwashed asses.

Who's scared? The rain is welcome and a little erosion is easy enough to deal with.

The thing that worries me is that our roof is tarped because of a couple of leaks we sprung during the rain in December, and we haven't been able to get the roof fixed yet. The indoor work is almost done but if it leaks again we're fucked. Those tarps aren't really meant to hold up under 60 mph winds.

How do you expect their economy to run if they can't run down to the Piggly Wiggly to get their Moon Pies?

Yes, because areas that get a snowstorm every ten years should spend millions on snow removal equipment.

Thought that one through, did you?

What they should do is stockpile salt and buy spreaders for their already existing dump trucks so they could better de-ice their roads. Then they might only be shut down for half a day.

Being in the same boat, and having a big snowstorm very recently, this has been a very public discussion. The relevant transportation departments have laid out the numbers for just what you describe... and it doesn't make any sense, at all.

Way better things to spend the money on. And if the people who still need to get around all invested a few bucks in a set of tire chains, a snowstorm wouldn't be an issue... well, if it piles up higher than the average car, maybe. But it's not like they're going to plow and de-ice ever neighborhood street.
