Yes, of course, because when they kick down the alleged (KEY WORD THERE) perp's door, making sure they have the right address is of secondary concern when they're armed to the teeth and ready to kill.Diego in Seattle wrote:What difference does it make if the police use armored vehicles & assault rifles? Anyway...back to the shooter. Word has it he was a closeted homo who frequented that bar because as it was off the beaten path, was also frequented by closeted gay men. He used to visit the bar, but he would get rejected by other men constantly because of how weird he was.

First off, SWAT doesn't serve search warrants unless it involves a subject who is known to be a threat to LE officers or involves felony offenses. There's stuff being left out of the story.
And I'd like to know the ages of these so-called "children." Trayvon Martin & Michael Brown were referred to as "children" as well...

The one take away from all this? Time to buy more firearms before Hillary gets in office. Unregistered, ghost, and 80/20s. Buy 'em while you can and remember to stock upon ammo to the tune of 10,000 rounds per gun. Weaponize yourself for the inevitable gun bans that are coming in this next decade. They don't have the guts to go after radical Islamofacsists. And so we've seen in the last 24 hours how being a ISIS loving Muzzie is not the story, but that he was bi-polar and had access to firearms.

Yeah, police administrators will put themselves in that sort of situation.
Tell us, were the officers involved in the North Hollywood bank robbery being overzealous when they used an armored vehicle to rescue victims? How about when they acquired higher-powered rifles to take down the two suspects? And that they use drug hysteria to justify over zealous policing.
And I guess people running drugs using high-powered weaponry is just "hysteria."

The Mongol invasion wasn't until the late 1100's to 1200's.....Muhammad was born in 570AD and ripped off the bible for stories about how Islam was the way to truth.....really, it was a way in which to justify his pedophilia as he "married" a nine year old girl and allegedly had sex with many similarly aged girls and teens....the guy created a cult that got out of hand and now it's become what you see it is today......like I said, I reread the Quran and found it most interesting that it was more about muslims sex life than it was about brotherhood and universal love.....BSmack wrote:Errr not exactly. Perps would think twice before driving down our street taking out mail boxes and other sundry acts of vandalism. We could take shifts playing watchdog. With at least one dozen enlisted houses on the block, we could keep it covered 24/7 with 2 hours per shift. Being as how I started this brilliant door to door petition/initiative, I've got dibs on the 6 to 8 pm time slot. A lawn chair, cooler full of Bud Light and a "NOT a gun free" sign is all I need. Oh, and a radio so I can listen to Royals games. Of course I'll miss the No Spin Zone hour of power but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Woe to the punk kid who walks across my lawn.

Cool. I'll do the 8 am to 10 am shift and have the rest of the afternoon off to go fishing or whatever. Will I get extra rations or something if I volunteer for H/K scouting missions and Air Cav screening flights? I'll need a wrench and door gunner if you know anybody.

Re: Thoughts and prayers in MCO
Just to be clear, there was NO assault rifle used in the Orlando shooting. An assault rifle is a "fully" automatic weapon by definition, meant only to identify a military equivalent weapon. Hold back on the trigger, weapon fires till trigger released.
Muzzie purchased the weapon only a week or so before the melee. It is illegal to sell an "assault" rifle in the U.S. of A. Way back to 1934.
Gun looks just as scary, but is a semi-auto weapon. Must pull the trigger individually for each round fired.
Libbies have been selling the term to the American public, and idiots that don't know the difference, take it hook, line, and sinker.

As do morons with pipe bombs, car bombs, pressure cookers, knives, machetes, clubs, poisons .. people are always going to kill people if that is their intent.88 wrote:Terms don't kill people. Morons with AR-15's and high capacity magazines do.
My point is as long as a rifle that is NOT an assault rifle is targeted as such, then how long until my A-5 Browning 12 gauge is a howitzer?
I personally see no reason owning an AR-15, M-16, or AK-47. 99.9% of the people owning them aren't likely to shoot-up 49 people however.
Never pretended to have one. What is your grand solution, aside from arguing about terminology?
There is no "little bit". As soon another nut job kills 8 people with a 15 round handgun, they'll be the next to go. The ol' trickle down effect. Right down to my beloved 47 year old Daisy B.B. gun.Or, do we consider restraining the ownership and possession of firearms a little bit?.
I get there are weapons that have no real purpose in society. Your .50 cal example being one of them. But some guys are collectors, and like anything of value in the eye of the beholder, it will become more valuable with time. Guns never depreciate with care. Most dudes you see with such weapons at gun shows are out to make a profit from an investment they made years ago and likely only fired the weapon a couple of times, if at all.
I DO AGREE sales of weapons should be registered and background checks filed with the proper authorities, concerning gun show venues. A waiting list should be in place, and no one should be allowed to leave a gun show, with a gun, the same day.

Re: MCO murders. New info (not really sure if it is true) states Florida does not allow concealed carry in bars/clubs. Also that the killer took out quickly the one club employee that was packing. Sure looks like he cased the place thoroughly and may have known who to shoot first. Let's see if there are some changes in Florida's laws.

This^^^^^ is why posting an armed security guard is not the answer to our security issues, whether it is an elementary school or the bird cage. They are sitting ducks who simply give the bad guy one more weapon after walking up and shooting them.
The only logical way to defend public places is to give the public the ability to protect themselves. I think this goes for any place, including bars. People are generally more polite to one another if they suspect each other may be armed.

As far as I know, there is no statistical evidence to support that a well legally armed citizenry creates massive gun shootings. It's the criminals who don't give a rat's ass about the law. It actually was the same even back in the old west. Movies and TV westerns would have you believe that all people did back then was going around shooting at each other.

I'm betting that most gun owners don't spend all that much time on the range. And hitting a live, moving target that is firing back is a lot harder than hitting a stationary paper target. Now you want to add alcohol to the mix of people shooting in a public place? Gee, I wonder what could go wrong?
