Princely Hamilton wins in Monaco
Making history. I think Monaco is a fake kingdom with a fake royal family, but a race is a race. Why did it take so long for the English to win again? And how do Americans fare?

He has a nice grip and a nicer smile. Thank you for the wiki article. I'll keep my opinions about some of the things written within it to myself.

Hmmm....

I haven't been following lately, so maybe my info is outdated...

But at present...

Let's see -- the number of American teams in F1 is...

Zero.

The number of American F1 drivers is, last I heard...

Zero.

The last time an American citizen won an F1 race...

The last time someone actually born in the USA won an F1 race...

1961.

Does that answer your question?

F1 is so clearly superior to any of the American racing series, it's not even worth discussing.

So Americans have to play with themselves and by their own rules in order to be the best at something? That doesn't sound right. What's the real reason Americans don't dominate?

I figured the NASCousinfuckers would be along to clown themselves shortly.

Uhm, two words for you, which can explain the depths of your KYOA episode quite succinctly --

"Right"

"Turn"

End of discussion.

What the hell does that have to do with the quality of racing? Good racin' is about close competion, of which Formula 1 has very little.

Granted, F1 spends about 10 times more cash to run a team than a top notch NASCAR team, thus the technology is much advanced, but I'd rather watch a soapbox derby than a glorified parade.

Your smack goes over my head. Golf is boring and it encourages places which absolutely do not have the resources to waste, to gorge on water for cash. But that's irrelevant. Why can't Americans succeed at Formula One instead of sticking to the double incest of Nascar/Indycar? What's different about the American psyche that it can't bitchslap the world in Formula One? Aren't we rich, too?

Maybe the same reasons the US doesn't dominate in soccer, cricket, table tennis, and a host of other sports?

The IRL is dominated by foreign drivers as well. Americans prefer fenders.

That said, I've no doubt that a Jeff Gordon or a Tony Stewart could succeed at F1 if they had the opportunity and wanted to.

But why should they?

Dickhead, that was inappropriate. Everyone knows you're on a "first name basis" with said cement truck. Now wipe off your face. That's nasty.

It's cool, Bobby. Adel, I was following a link at HuffPo which had different international perspectives on Hillary Clinton's assassination-keeps-me-going fuck up, and one of those links had a sidebar with that photo within it and a caption going ga-ga about an Englishman making history. "Who the fuck is that?" Click. Ooo.

He's fine. He made history. It's a sports take. Except instead of a dumbass pretending to be interested in tennis when all they really want to do is catch beaver shots (whatever happened to Pournikova anyway?)..... it's me not interested in all in a deadly sport on the streets of a fake kingdom ruled over by fake monarchs... but the kid is good, he made history, America apparently sucks at it (and shouldn't), Nubia conquers again, so fuck it. Here's to Lewis.

Because it's boring and no one cares? Kind of like Cricket...
