Let's put it like this, in 18 years of being a military Brat and my father being a single father for the majority of the time I was his "date" at numerous functions and at them all politics were usually the focus and I only recall two people admitting they were democrats and they both ended up leaving early after the onslaught began.

That has been going on forever. Veterans ( especially the ones who were injured) have always been treated poorly.

Neighbor of mine was in the vietnam war. Got injured pretty badly when a RPG blew up on the boat he was on. Lost his hearing in one ear, sight in one eye, has a prothetic knee and has had 20 operations on his shoulder, plus shrapnel embedded all over. He was denied benefits because he was only "23%" incapacitated. Had he been 25% he would have qualified.
He tried to fight it, but lost.
