That's a good idea, because the bacon comes out kind of undercooked, especially if it's not very lean. Might try microwaving it for a few minutes first next time.

Shellfish skewers

Fixed these last night because I had gotten some nice sea scallops at Costco. Take about an equal number of large sea scallops and large, shelled shrimp and marinate for an hour or so in a mixture of EVOO, lemon juice, minced garlic and a little salt. While the shellfish is marinating cut up some on...

Salmon filets and steaks need to be treated somwheat differently from each other. For salmon, my favorite used to be steaks because I couldn't grill a filet without having it fall apart on me. I've pretty much figured out the filets now and that's what I usually buy. Here's how I do it. I always get...

First, get some decent NY steaks. Then, go to the store and get some fresh-type salsa or if they don't have anything that fancy where you live make your own with chopped tomatoes, onions, cilantro (coriander leaves for those of you outside the area of Latino influence) and jalpenos. Add some lime ju...

I made some last night and put it on angel hair pasta, and also had some good bread for dipping.

It was great, but I'm still tasting garlic this morning. Next time I may try sauteeing it first.

I truly believe that pesto is one of God and GOD's special gifts to mankind.

Yes, I think I may have to make some tonight to go with the swordfish and 'chokes that I've been saving since Sunday. Something with a lot of chocolate in it for dessert. It's Fat Tuesday after all.

fresh basil (lots) pine nuts - if they're raw then toast them a little in a hot skillet parmesan cheese, a big pile, freshly grated- it has to be the real thing, not the stuff that comes in a can garlic - as much as you can stand EVOO hot water salt and pepper to taste I can't tell you the amounts -...

I use AdAware and PestPatrol. PestPatrol will ID spyware and tell you exactly how to remove it, sometimes in many steps. If you pay for it, it will do the removal itself. It works very well but AdAware still catches a few things that PestPatrol doesn't. PestPatrol will also actively scan your memory...

I think it happens to a lot of bands / performers who stay around a long time. It's pretty hard to be "new and original" for 30 years. Who has done that, anyway? To a lot of people the music of Yes or The Police may have gotten stale after the first few albums. Other people who may be more...

When I want something really quick to throw on some pasta I just take a decent "jar" sauce, rinse the jar with about 1/4 - 1/2 cup of red wine, add a little EVOO and a bunch of sliced 'shrooms, and simmer for about 10 or 15 min.
